Last Friday after boot camp, there was a little Christmas party for all of the kiddos and Santa arrived. Joseph spotted him walking across the street and he climbed into his stroller, but stood, so he could get a good view of him but had no interest in getting any closer.
This past Sunday we went to Donuts with Santa after mass which is a great thing that our church puts on. We went last year and were impressed! No crazy line, it is free, you get a cd with four pictures on it and they serve donuts and coffee! We'll make this a tradition! We tried to get Joseph real excited and had him talking about giving Santa a high five and he was all talk but once it was our turn he had no interest. The pictures aren't great but I do think it is pretty funny that he is just staring at him for the first two!
Maybe next year! Until then we'll keep talking about Santa. I have a "Hawaiian Santa" in our bathroom and he talks about how Santa is watching him pee and how Santa is happy when Joseph pees or poops on the potty. Today I asked him if he wanted to hold the Hawaiian Santa and he had no interest-again just likes him from a far. It is pretty neat though to watch him kind of get the idea of Santa. He talks about baking cookies for Santa and knows that the next time he gets to open presents is when Santa brings them to him. But, more importantly he knows that it is Jesus' birthday on Christmas-that is the real message we want to teach him!!
