Soaking up September!

After the somewhat quieter months of summer, September always seems to feel extra busy!  With two birthdays, the first few weeks of school, fall sports...everything is just ramped up!  Throw in me subbing full time and this year seemed especially busy but we made it and had a great month and lots of great memories were made!
We are in full swing of fall sports!  Joseph is playing fall ball for Little League with the Majors, Ella is playing softball, and Julia and Charlotte are both playing soccer.
Poppa competed in the Senior Olympics for the javelin because he is just incredible!!!  We all went to cheer him on and he did great!  Joseph ended up helping out and returning the javelins to the competitors which was fun for him and he even ended up making a few bucks for doing so!
So thankful for such an active, healthy role model for our kiddos!
Hanging around before soccer practice!
And so it begins with lots of time at the community park...

Joseph went to the Padres game with the Cawlfields and had a great time!

We celebrated Julia and Charlotte's birthdays with the family on September 4th and had so much fun!  Swimming, a pinata, games and lots of great food made for an awesome celebration!

Charlotte received a mermaid bathing suit (with tail included!) from Aunt Hollie, Uncle Bubba and James which was a huge hit!

For the birthday present from the Zicklers they had Julia and Charlotte spend the night at their house and took them to mini golf the next day.  The girls loved it!

While Julia and Charlotte were at the Zicklers, Cole spent the night here and Ella went to Sydney's.  We headed to the pond with the boys so they could do some crawfish catching!

We were at the Westwood Club for a party one afternoon and got this cute picture of Charlotte playing one of the games!

On what would have been Mr. George's 95th birthday we celebrated his life.  I was thankful that it happened to fall on a day where the teachers had professional development day so I didn't have to work so we went to mass and then had lunch at Urge.  Dad did a great job with the reception and it was nice to remember and honor him.

Lots of swimming still this month!

Charlotte woke up one day feeling congested so I kept her home with all of the covid restrictions.  I took her to get a covid test, which was negative, and by the afternoon she was totally fine and bouncing around.
Random photos on my phone...
Hair train with Syd one afternoon!
And, finally, I found this in my lunch one day and it totally made my day!!  I have always written notes in the kids lunches and although Joseph and Ella have requested for me not to continue, I still send Julia and Charlotte with them and Charlotte wrote this one for me.  So sweet!!

Julia is 7!

September is always fun with our back to back birthdays!  We loved celebrating Julia turning 7 on Wednesday, September 8th!  She was so excited for her ocean themed birthday and she came down to an underwater celebration!  She had school on her birthday but she was excited to hear her name on the announcements, celebrate with her class and bring in goodie bag favors for her class.  After school we had plans for one of her good friends to come over to swim but unfortunately she canceled on us at the last minute so we just swam here with just us and then Ella had softball practice and then we had dinner and did presents.  She had a great day and loved every minute of her day!  We also continued the celebration the following weekend with a seal tour on a boat that went on land and in the ocean.  She saw one of these over the summer and had in her mind that was what she wanted to do for her birthday and we are so glad that she wanted to because it was such a fun day!  They made her feel super special on the boat/bus and we sang to her!

So many seals!!!
We ended the day with dinner and ice cream at Seaport Village!
It was such a fun day!
Julia also got to have a "Yes Day" with Nani and Poppa as her birthday gift from them.  They have started doing this with the grandkids for their birthdays and everyone loves it so much!  Julia chose to go to the zoo and then out to dinner at Grub and she just had the best day.  If you ask her even today (months later as I am writing this!) she will still tell you that one of her most favorite days ever was her "Yes Day with Nani and Poppa"-she even shared about it in class for her favorite day ever!
Nani and Poppa let her buy something in the gift shop so she came home with "Pandy the Panda".
Massive milkshake at dinner!
They dropped her off at the Westwood club since we were there for a party and she was all smiles and full of so much excitement!
Julia continues to have the sweetest personality full of so much love and thoughtfulness.  She is easygoing, gets along with everyone and makes others feel good about themselves.  She is always asking to make videos and is super creative.  She uses all of my tape and her creations can be found all over her room all of the time!! She enjoys playing soccer, dancing and putting on shows at home, jumping on the trampoline and swimming in the pool.  We're so excited to watch her grow this year!

She loves carrot cake so requested that for her cake!  And, one of her presents was a little live pets which is the bird that she is holding which she was so happy to receive!
She also wanted a big pineapple float for her birthday so was so happy to get that!  Lots of pineapple time in the pool coming up!
She is definitely the queen of selfies!
Happy Birthday sweet girl!  We hope that all of your dreams come true this year!
