Mix of May

The beginning of May seems like it was forever ago.  Summer is officially here now but thankfully it hasn't seemed too hot...yet.  We know it is coming though and we are ready and excited for lots of splash pad and pool time. Here are a bunch of random pictures throughout the month for a little mix of May.
Fun at the park on May 3rd
They love playing the policeman game where they slide down and someone tells them to stop and then they run away from the police who is trying to give them a ticket.  Entertainment for hours (well, maybe not hours but definitely fun!)
More fun at the park the next day on May 4th.
The swings don't get much cooler than this!
Their new favorite way to cruise to the park.
And, even more fun at the park the next day on May 5th!  We just love having the park right behind our house-makes for a very easy and fun way to spend an hour or so before dinner.
Sliding with Baby Char Char (Charlotte).  She was named after the birth of the daughter of Princess Kate and Prince William.  Rich and I were talking about her being born and Joseph was listening and ever since Ella's baby is now Baby Charlotte.  Joseph once in awhile will ask me, "How old is baby Charlotte now?"  referring to the real baby Charlotte.  So funny the things they pick up on.
Why does my laundry pile always look like this?!?  I have no problem keeping up with the washing and drying but then it just sits...and sits...and sits!!
At least I have a cute helper when I do finally get around to folding it and putting it away!
On May 8th we met up with Olivia and Jack at our new Creekside Park Village Center for their grand opening party.  There was face painting, balloons, giveaways and samples.  It is so nice having the center open now-it is within walking distance and we've hit up the candy shop and pizza restaurant a few times and are looking forward to checking out the other new restaurants and businesses soon.
After checking out the grand opening we walked over to Liberty Branch park and played there for awhile.
Julia doing a little stretching after her meal on May 12th.
It is always straight to the bath with her after dinner.
Nice and clean!
We still have the swing assembled in our bedroom, although Julia no longer uses it, and I often find animals enjoying it.  I found this picture on my phone so either Joseph or Ella wanted to document bear's nap in it.
May has been the CRAZIEST weather month ever!  We had a tornado warning one morning, we have had a ton of rain and many parts of Texas has experienced major flooding.  Thankfully we have been ok and most of the rain has taken place at night so our days haven't been too wet.  One night we did end up bringing all three kids into our room because the house was seriously shaking from the thunder and I was having visions of trees crashing into the roof.  It ended up being a pretty bad idea since I was up past midnight with Julia trying to get her back to sleep and Ella was awake for that entire time watching us.  I ended up putting Julia back in her crib around 2 am since she just wasn't having it in our bed.  Thankfully there weren't any trees that crashed into our home and everyone slept in the next morning.
Joseph had a soccer game on May 13th that started off pretty clear but by the end of it they were playing in almost a downpour and it eventually ended up being called for thunder. They had a blast though!
And the next day it was blue skies and sunny so after I taught boot camp we stayed and played at Northshore park.  Joseph and Ella were doing their own bootcamp through the sand while I fed Julia and watched them.  So fun to watch them together do things like this.
Julia just sitting pretty on May 14th.
Sometimes I can not handle Ella and her cuteness!!  She is just too much!  Off on a little stroll on May 16th.
Later that afternoon we headed to Burroughs Park for the first time.  It is a 320 acre park about 10 minutes from our home.  Rich wanted to go for a run on the trails at the park so we all tagged along to check it out. It is a great park and everyone had so much fun.  Joseph and Rich hiked on the trails after Rich's run and then we hung out for awhile.  Next time we'll pack lunch and spend the day!
Swinging sisters!
This picture makes me laugh because first glance it appears that she is trying to hold her hat on, but really she is trying to yank it off.  She does not like wearing hats!!
Joseph was hoping to catch a fish with his net.
On May 17th we went to Carson's new home for his 5th birthday party.  They had a snake handler come and the kids got to hold all sorts of snakes (and a little alligator!!)  Joseph loved it!!
They look a little too happy with this guy wrapped around their necks!
On May 18th, Joseph was helping me out by holding Julia in his car seat while I got the carrier on.
Our little hipster belongs in Brooklyn!
Just hanging with the big kids on May 20th
And a selfie from Joseph found on my phone that day!
On our way to teach bootcamp on May 21st and Ella was ready!
I let the kids play in the rain for a bit and they were loving it!

And then this happened!!!
I figure a naked picture is a good time to include a funny story about Ella.  She has been totally out of diapers during the day for about a month now and has done so great with it!  However, she still likes to celebrate almost every time after she uses the potty.  She''ll say "Yay Ella" and then she'll run out and share her great news with anyone who is around.  "Ju ju, Ella potty!"  Rich and I joke around that we'll still be celebrating when she's 16!  Often when she is in the bathroom when I am going (you know, pretty much every time!) she also will cheer for me. Definitely makes it more fun when you have someone cheering you on :)
All dry later that day!
Love watching the three of them play together.
After playing in the rain in the morning, it cleared up so we made our way to the park that afternoon.
On Friday, May 22nd we went to the rec center to pick up our pool passes for the summer so we stayed at the park to play for awhile.
They love these swings-Ella was pretending she was asleep!
Another rainy morning had us turning the house upside down on May 23rd but by that afternoon the sun was out and we were on our way tot he pool for the first time this season!  They were all smiles finding out that the pool was a go!
The kids love going to Costco (who doesn't?!) but the best thing about Costco is coming home with boxes to play with for hours.  Joseph is strategically placing the telescope on the top of the robot.
The final product!
And then later that afternoon the boxes helped create a huge fort which unfortunately had to be taken down before dinner.
Sisters getting ready for bed!
On May 27th our friends, the Conley family, came back to Texas for a few days to visit.  It was so fun having them back!  They didn't stay with us but we saw them every day and had a blast!  We met up with the Kramers and the Knellers at Liberty Branch Park on Wednesday afternoon.
On Thursday, May 28th we went to Sawmill Park and had a great day!  We surprised Carrie with a baby sprinkle since she is due with Finn in August.
Ella posing with the fruit baby that I made!

Joseph entertaining himself in the car while I unpacked it from the day.
On Friday we met everyone at the splash pad to play and enjoy the sunshine!
Ella and Victoira were sunbathing!
And on Sunday we met up for brunch and then headed to Shadowbend Park to play and to go in the splashed there.  It was such a great visit with them filled with lots of sun, water and fun!
The crew from Dosey Doe's for brunch.
Playing at Shadowbend Park after.
I've been wanting to get a picture of the length of Ella's hair.  We still haven't cut it and I just love it long!  She will let me put it up now that it is hot outside-that's all I have to tell her is that it is hot so your hair has to go in a ponytail and she'll let me.  I'm so glad that I never gave her bangs (although I still do love that look on little girls).  It will be so interesting to see how Julia's hair grows in!!
Finally to finish out the month, Ella was in a feisty mood on the way home from Joseph's soccer game on May 30th, but Daddy was able to entertain her with selfies from the passenger seat and turned her attitude around. Daddies are good at that! Love  that he captured Julia's chunky legs in the following pictures!  So thankful for this crazy crew!
