Dancing Machine

Both Rich and I enjoy getting on the dance floor (especially after a few drinks in us) and looks like Joseph is going to follow in our footsteps! Although at this point he looks more like an Irish step dancer.

This is posted for my mom since when she was visiting he was "dancing" up a storm...so please don't feel like you have to watch all 3 minutes!

Oh, and he is drooling up a storm, hence the wet shirt!

Exploring our new city

This past weekend we only had one house to view so we took advantage of the free time and checked out some of the attractions that Houston has to offer.
On Saturday, we were going to visit the Museum of Natural Science, but it was such a beautiful day that we decided to just hang out at Hermann park. The park is located in the museum district along with the Houston zoo. The park has a lot of walking paths, paddle boats, a train for kids, and a ton of picnic tables and places to relax. We people watched and just hung out for the afternoon and are looking forward to going back again!
On Sunday we headed to Minute Maid Park, home of the Houston Astros, located right in downtown Houston. The ballpark is really nice and is in a great location surrounded by lots of cute restaurants and fun bars. We'll have to go back "Joseph free" to take advantage of them! The Padres were in town and we were proud to represent San Diego! It was another beautiful day and we had such a fun time. The highlight of the game was seeing George and Barbara Bush on the big screen (I heard they have season tickets) and during the 7th inning stretch they sing, "Deep in the Heart of Texas" along with "Take Me out to the Ballgame." Texans definitely have a lot of pride in the state and it was fun to sing along with them...we'll have to learn the words! Although we were dressed in Padres gear, we were kind of on the fence as to who to cheer for (neither of us are up to date on either team), but the Padres won, so I guess we will say we were rooting for them!

Nani comes to visit!

My mom came to visit for part of her spring break last week. We, of course, loved having her here! We went to George Bush Park and found some great walking trails, did some shopping at the awesome outlet mall and checked out the suburbs that we are thinking about moving to. She saw Joseph just last month when we were in San Diego and she was amazed at how different he looked in just a month-he is growing way too fast. It was so nice having her here and we are looking forward to her coming back in June again hopefully!

The bottom right picture cracks me up-this is his favorite thing to do-make noises while sucking on his bottom lip!

4 months

I'm 4 months today!
Joseph turned 4 months on April 7th-can't believe that he is 1/3rd of the way to his 1st birthday already! My mom was in town visiting so she came with us to his well baby check-up. He weighed in at 17 pounds, 1 oz (88th %ile) and was 26.75 inches long (96 %ile). The doctor predicts that he will be about 6'1" or 6'2"...he will tower over me! Everything looks healthy and he is just a growing boy.
It is just amazing to watch how much he has changed these past 4 months! He is rolling over frequently now, laughing and "talking" a ton, drooling like a champ, putting everything in his mouth (his favorite thing is his lower lip!) and is showing the first signs of army crawling by pushing his little coolie in the air while moving his legs. He goes to bed between 6:30 and 7:30 (depending on what we do during the day) and is so close to sleeping through the night-dropped his night feeding about 2 weeks ago-he normally gets up around 2:30 but as long as we stick his pacifier back in, he goes to sleep again. Almost there! He is definitely all boy and we have a feeling he is going to be as active as they come! Here are a few pictures of our 4 month old!

The Search Is On

We are definitely in the midst of some serious house hunting right now! We have been researching communities, schools, neighborhoods, commutes, etc. like crazy and have spent many hours in the car driving by homes to check them out and then viewing them with our realtor. We are getting close...we have it narrowed down to 2 suburbs now (we think!) and today came up with about 6 homes that are on our "serious consideration" list. Next weekend we'll check out the other suburb and this week we have a few more to view, as well. Joseph has been a champ in and out of the car and eating on the run :) Here are a few of the homes we are considering...we'll be sure to let you all know our new address once we decide on the perfect one for us.

6 months??

Joseph will be 4 months next week but EVERYONE seems to think that he is 6 months or older! Yes, we know he is big! From the mailman to waiters at restaurants to people on the plane and in stores everyone always guesses he is 6 months (had one person guess 7) and it goes without fail when I say, "No, only 3 1/2" they then say, "Wow, he is big!" Again, yes we know he is big :) I am dying to find out how much he weighs at his appointment next week! Here are a few pictures from the week of our big, little man!
