Just a few randoms...

Trying to get back on track with the blogging so have a few random pictures from the month of October that don't really belong with anything so thought I'd throw them together.
On October 5th we went to our church's fall festival with the Enia family and had a great afternoon.  Of course the day before the festival it was a nice 75 degree day but the day of the festival it was back in the 90s so Joseph and Elsie were hot, sweaty messes by the end (as were the rest of us!).  We were too busy chasing the kids from one bounce house to the next but I did snap a few pictures of Joseph sitting down for a few minutes to devour a cupcake!

On October 10th Joseph decided that he wanted to wear this Halloween hoodie to school.  He had it on before school and I figured that he would take it off before we left but he told me that he wanted to wear it.  I was certain when we pulled into the parking lot that he would want to take it off (especially because it was in the 80s already) but he insisted on keeping it on since Vivi Rose (a little girl in his class who he talks about frequently!) would want to see it.  Well, sure enough when I went to pick him up that afternoon he was still wearing it with the hood up.  His teachers told me that he wore it all day with the hood up except for on the playground because "it was is too hot for this".  He normally doesn't want anything to do with the sweatshirt because he says it is too scary but obviously he wasn't scared of it today.  Funny thing is, is that he hasn't touched it or asked to wear it again since.
Most Fridays we get together with our group of friends and meet up to play and do lunch.  On Friday, October 11th we headed to Towne Greene to play and picnic there.  It was a gorgeous day and the kids just had such a great time!  I just love this picture of them!

Good buddies!
I think that is all of the random ones for now!

Uncle JP

My dad's youngest brother, J.P., was in Houston for a conference so came to see us for an afternoon and evening.  Neither of the kids had met him before but Joseph was so excited to see him.  All day prior to his visit he kept saying, "Yay!  Uncle JP is coming!" They hit it off right away and within minutes of his arrival they were playing football in the living room.  It took Ella a little longer to warm up to him but she came around!  We caught up and then walked over to the park to play there for awhile and then came back to the house for dinner.  I can't believe this but I totally forgot to take any pictures-ugh!  Thankfully we will see him and the rest of his awesome family in January for Lindsay's wedding so we'll get some pictures then.  It was such a nice treat to have him visit and Joseph talked about him for days!
Can't have a blog post without pictures though so here is Joseph trying on his suit for Aunt Lindsay and Paul's wedding.  So handsome but we'll have to get it altered a bit!

I'm not Joseph

Joseph is definitely into pretend play these days.  Most days he tells me, "I'm not Joseph" and he is either a football player or a firefighter.  We spend our days either tackling and scoring touchdowns or pretending to put out fires and save kittens stuck in trees.  His newest thing is to pretend he is sleeping on the couch and I have to wake him up because there is an emergency (either a fire or a kitten in a tree).
Here is his firefighter uniform-helmet (which is a piece to the ice cream maker), football pants that firefighters wear, too, and my brown boots!
Per his request he is going to be a football player for Halloween again this year.  His uniform came in the mail last week and he is wearing it constantly!  We wont' let him wear the jersey or pants out of the house but the helmet goes with us pretty much everywhere!
Ella eyeig up his sample!
Sweet Ella just goes along with her brother's antics!
And a little preview for Halloween!

Race ready

I am running the Ten for Texas this weekend which is a ten mile race in The Woodlands and today finished my last training run for it.  I am pretty excited for the race and I have really enjoyed training for something again.  My running buddies are awesome and have been so great on the training runs! Here are a few fun stroller pictures from recently:
Football players have to go on runs, too.  Here he is in full gear, football and all.
This past Tuesday, October 8th, Joseph didn't nap at school and he fell asleep on the run in the afternoon.  This hasn't happened in probably 2 years!
As I was finishing a run I looked down and saw this and just felt so blessed!  Ella's little feet peeking through and Joseph big ol' football helmet-can't get any better than that!
I asked Joseph if he was excited to cheer me on this Saturday and he said "Yes, because I get to eat oatmeal and cheer loud!"  At the race that I did back in April  Rich got oatmeal for him from McDonald's that morning-so funny the things they remember!  Daddy will be picking up some oatmeal for him again this Saturday.

New wheels

We have recently been cruising to the park in our wagon which has been a fun way to change it up a bit from the normal walk and bike ride over.  The wagon was a gift from Nani and Poppa last Christmas (although Joseph claims it is from Santa) and Joseph recently rediscovered it and it is so fun that Ella can join him now, too.  She loves it as much as he does!

Joseph telling Ellla about his dinosaur and how she can't eat it.
I have a feeling Ella's face here is a glimpse into her teenage years!

 Love that smile!
And the tongue!

Around the house

Up to no good on September 24th
When I took this picture Joseph said to me, "Mom, there's an Ella and a football player in the cabinet!"
(The tall socks are his football player socks!)
She has figured out how to get out of it now, too, so she no longer gets stuck!

Lunch time with piggies!
September 27th
A little finger/body painting followed by a swim in the pool to get it all off.

L.O.V.E.

I went running with a friend on September 15th and when I got back I found this waiting for me on my phone.  Love these three!!
And later that night I was spying on the boys at bedtime.
