Visitors

Over the weekend we had friends from Austin come visit us.  Tim and Rich went to West Point together and then were stationed in Hawaii for a few years together as well.  Tim and Kate came back to visit us once in Hawaii but this was prior to kids and now they have 2 beautiful children.  We had such a fun weekend with them and are so glad that they made the drive to see us.
On Saturday we ventured to downtown Houston to check out the Butterfly exhibit at the Museum of Natural Science.  It was really neat and the kids loved it!
 Kate caught one!
On Saturday evening we headed to Market Street (downtown the Woodlands) to walk around and to enjoy splashing around in the fountains.

Other than that we just enjoyed one another's company hanging out at home and watching the kids play together.
We look forward to heading to Austin at some point to visit with them as well.  Thanks so much for coming!

Almost August?!?

It is hard to believe that this week was the last full week of July-the summer has flown by!!  Here are some pictures from the week.
After the pool last Monday-good buddies!
Joseph wearing Daddies' hat and boxers
We went to "our" pool on Wednesday with friends-we have been so busy checking out the other pools in the Woodlands that we haven't gotten to this one quite as frequently.  It is awesome though-especially the lazy river that wraps around the park.
Played in our backyard one afternoon
And after boot camp one day we ventured upstairs to ride the carousel at the mall with friends-Joseph doesn't look overly excited in the picture but he had a great time and I just love my friends' smile in this picture!

Big Brother!!

Joseph is going to be a big brother-our family is growing!  We are expecting a little girl sometime this December-my due date is Christmas Eve which is going to make for a very fun but expensive month in the Ducote home!  We feel so blessed and are so thankful.
We found out that I was pregnant on April 11th and we found out on July 25th, 2012 that we are having a girl.  I had an ultrasound at 14 weeks and the Dr. tried to see if she could see the gender and she couldn't see anything so I had a pretty good feeling that we were having a girl but we were still shocked and, of course, super excited!

Rich had jsut finished telling the Dr. that he is the oldest of 9, the first 8 being boys, and that on the Ducote side there are 5 grandsons-no granddauthers yet-which is why the Dr. added the "Wow!!!!"

I have been feeling really great.  Just very tired and I feel fortunate that I am able to crash during the day when Joseph naps if I need to (which happens pretty frequently!)

8 weeks-May 14, 2012
Around 8 weeks I feel like I popped a little bit but then between 12 and 15 I just looked kind of chubby  and then at 16 definitely popped again!
 17 weeks! July 16, 2012
After we found out that we are having a girl I went to Carter's and had to control myself not to go crazy.  I saw the cutest pair of boots (actually 2 pairs!) and so many adorable outfits but I was good and figure I have plenty of time to shop.  I probably will go back next week to get one of the pairs of boots though!  I did have to pick this up for Rich though!!
We are so excited to become a family of 4!!

The week in review

Just some fun pictures from the past week...
The weather was really nice this week-in the 80s thanks to some rain so we spent a lot of time outside.  Cheese at the park!
 Daddy pushes so high!
 Love that laugh!
We went to 7 Acre Woods which is a petting zoo and outdoor play area about 20 minutes away with friends.  The kids all loved the animals and it was a fun morning!
He kissed about every goat in the place!
"Gas, gas"  He will point out gas stations as driving and is totally obsessed with "pumping gas"-he spent a good amount of time playing with these cars and the gas station here.
 Another kiss
The horse was friendly even though the picture looks like he is about to chomp Joseph's arm off!

He got his first pair of crocs and he was SO excited!!
After some time in the sun
We went to three different pools three times this past week-I am not good about taking pictures at the pool since my hands are always full with Joseph but here is a cute one of him and his friend Olivia after the pool-walking out, holding hands!!
A little water play on the weekend...future rugby player?
 Funny guy!!

Have to save this one for his future girlfriends!
On Saturday night Joseph had a birthday party at The Little Gym and he loved it!  He had the biggest smile with him during the party and it was so much fun.  Here he is going on the wheel and then doing a summersault off of it.
I promise we have taught him to use a fork!
 He can do it!

Went to the track on Sunday morning so Rich could do a track workout-future track star for The Woodlands highschool?  He has some work to do but off to a good start!
And finally Rich and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary on Saturday.  We actually celebrated on Friday by going out to a nice dinner since we had the birthday party on Saturday.  We had dinner on the waterway and unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of the two of us but did get some pictures of the view.  Happy 6th anniversary to us!!
