Rich's birthday fell on Father's Day weekend this year so we had a fun weekend of celebrating him!!
He left early Saturday morning (his birthday) to run with his training group but when he returned we were ready to celebrate with him! The kids were so excited to decorate the house while he was gone and to get breakfast ready for him. They chose Avenger decorations along with Frozen plates and marble designed light up balloons so we had all of our bases covered in the decor department!
After opening up gifts at home we headed to Nani and Poppa's for a fun afternoon of swimming and bbq'ing with the Ozecks and Bri and Hollie. My Aunt Carol and Uncle JP were visiting so we got to catch up with them, too, which is always a treat. Rich and I left the kids with everyone there to celebrate his birthday Jimmy Buffet style! The new play, Escape to Margaritaville, which is inspired by the songs of Jimmy Buffet premiered at the La Jolla playhouse and with Rich being such a Buffet fan I figured that would be a perfect birthday present...and it was!! It was such a fun play and really well done and such a nice night out! The kids spent the night (well, minus Charlotte who we picked up after the play) and had a great time! I picked them up the following morning around 11:00 and hung out for awhile to hang with my amazing dad for Father's Day, too! For Father's Day we sent my parents to the same play so they got to experience it, too! My dad is not only an incredible father but also the best Poppa ever to these kids!!!
We headed home and spent the afternoon swimming in our pool and then went out for mexican food and ice cream for dessert.
We are so thankful for Daddy.
We love how he keeps us laughing, works hard to provide for us, likes to hide in our beds to scare us, wrestles with us, reads books to us in silly voices, plays games with us, teaches us how to ride bikes and swim, gives us more ice cream than Mommy does and loves us a lot!
We continued the celebration after dinner and ice cream with special gifts that the kids made in school as well as a new tent for our beach camping trip later this month. It was so special to have an entire weekend to celebrate Rich and we just love him so much! Happy Birthday and Father's Day!
