10 months for this blue eyed sweetheart! How can we be in the double digits already?? She continues to be such a happy, easy going baby and brings so much joy to our family.
One sweet that that I want to remember from this age is that we put her down for either a nap or at night we always pat her bottom and put our other hand over her eyes and she normally will kick her left leg a few times against the mattress before she falls asleep. That's the sign that she is normally down for the count. And then when you walk into her room once she wakes up she is just the happiest little thing. She normally is standing in the corner of the left side of the crib and she just starts flailing her arms with the biggest smile on her face. She has started giving kisses to you if you'll ask her. She still likes to nuzzle into our shoulders, too, which just makes your heart melt every time.
She really just has the cutest little faces and mannerisms. She is definitely showing a bit of a sassy personality and is just so fun!
She hangs in the carrier quite often these days and she has chewed a good sized hole on the right side of it...gross but it must feel good on her teeth. She still only has the bottom 2 teeth but we have a feeling those top two will be peeking through soon.
She imitates us all the time now with "ma ma", "ba ba" "da da"
On June 7th I freaked out for a few minutes after I had stepped out of my bedroom to check on dinner for about 2 minutes and walked back in and couldn't find her anywhere. I looked and looked and finally found her hanging out in the shower. Since this day, this spot has become one of her favorite hangouts. Whenever we are in our bedroom she always goes straight for the bathroom and if the door isn't closed she tries to get in as fast as she can. Sometimes she stops at the toilet and attempts to take these little covers off screws on the bottom, but other times she'll go straight for the shower and hang out in there. She's a funny one!!
This girl also LOVES her some bath time!! She has actually gotten kind of (never mind, not kind of, REALLY!) crazy during bath time where she flails herself in the water and will get on her knees and flail her head back like she is laughing really hard and throwing her head back. She's too much!! There is always water everywhere and normally Ella and Julia are complaining that she is in their space and there is not enough room because she's all over the place!! If she's not hanging out in the shower, you can find her hanging out here. She loves pulling herself up on the gates waiting for someone to leave it open and attempt to climb up the stairs. She is getting really good at it and we have to be REALLY careful to close them all of the time or she will be up them in no time.
Oh wait! There is one more new favorite hangout and this is it! The dishwasher!! She has mastered the art of taking all of the silverware out and throwing them on the ground and she has started doing the same with the plates so I have to be really fast when unloading to get all of the breakables put away quickly. She LOVES it and our kitchen floors are constantly covered in plastic utensils, cups or plates these days.
I don't know if I just have forgotten how busy this stage is with the others or if she is just that much busier but seriously she is ALWAYS into something. I know that we called Julia "Destructosaurus" so I remember at least that she was constantly getting into things and trying to ruin them but gosh I just feel that Charlotte is always, always, always into things, ruining them, eating them, tearing them...any of that and more! She has ripped many pages in books already, always seems to have some small piece of something in her mouth (favorites are nerf bullets, game pieces and legos) and is constantly trying to take over whatever Joseph, Ella or Julia is working on, playing with or building! It's a good thing she's so cute and we just love her so much! We are constantly saying, "Charlotte, why are you getting in my business?" and "That Charlotte, she's a stinker!"
Pulling up on everything, cruising everywhere and standing on her own for longer periods of times these days (June 18th was when she first stood by herself for a few seconds and she is getting more and more confident with doing so daily.) We caught her cruising on the couch officially on June 10th and has been a rockstar at it since then.
I had to chinned this picture because I love how her leg is stretched up (and, of course, love baby Finn's contagious smile, too!) We have found her in this position a few times recently and it always makes us laugh!! Work it, girl!
So, total mom fail this month with her monthly photo shoot. All day I kept telling myself that I had to take some pictures of her for her monthly birthday but we were busy with Lindsay, Paul and Finn and soon enough the day had come to an end and I was getting her in her pajamas and then I finally remembered again!!! So, I took off her jammies, put her in a dress, plopped her on her "Charlotte blanket", tried to take a few pictures and she was NOT impressed. I totally should have kept the jammies on and called it a night but I wouldn't have been able to sleep knowing that I didn't get one picture of her on her birthday. So, these are the best that I could get...happy 10 months sweet baby Lar Lar. We love you.
