We are so thankful that Brent and Chelsea came to visit us for Thanksgiving this year. They are the first visitors in our "new" home that we've been in for a year now and we loved that they came over the Thanksgiving holiday! They arrived late Wednesday night-Joseph was the only one up to see them and he was so excited that he got that special treat.
Unfortunately on Thursday, Thanksgiving, the forecast called for rain all day, but as we woke up that morning it was still clear so we decided to bundle up the kids and head to Miramar for a Thanksgiving workout and to let Chelsea and Brent sleep in a bit and have some quiet time before bombarded with us all day! It worked out perfectly as we beat the rain by minutes and then picked up bagels on the way home.
The rest of the day was spent playing and cooking before Nani, Poppa, Bubba, Hollie and the Zicklers came over. Chelsea and Brent brought this awesome tent that blows up with a fan-hours and hours of fun-all 6 of them are in there playing!
Isabella Tirado dropped this dress off for Julia a few days ago and it was perfect for the day!
Kids table!!
Show upon show post dinner! And, a few fun games thrown in there, too.
I found about 100 selfies of Julia and Uncle Paul on my phone...they obviously were enjoying themselves!
Nani brought a thankful turkey which we all wrote a thankful feather on which turned out super cute.
The following day there was a break in the rain so we bundled up and headed to our favorite tourist spot...Torrey Pines! Rich always jokes about going here and that it is the only place we take out of town visitors but it never disappoints! Even on days like today when the beach trail was closed, which was a bummer, but the views are still amazing and everyone always loves it.
I had never noticed this sign before...and, of course, our comedian thought it would be a perfect photo spot to have a snack!
After hiking we dropped Brent and Chelsea off in Pacific Beach where they were hanging for the next few days. We are so thankful that they spent Thanksgiving with us and that we were able to have some quality time with them. After dropping them off, we hit up lunch at Flame Broiler in PB-we took a picture because the kids and I had just gone there with Jen and the boys on Tuesday for the first time so wanted to send it to them letting them know that we liked it so much that we went back!
So thankful for such a wonderful Thanksgiving and such a special time with family.
