Joseph is 7!!!

Seven!  SEVEN!  This is the real deal-he is like a real, big kid these days!  Ha.  Full blown first grader, reader, totally independent of daily tasks, could hang with his friends for hours, big appetite, lego builder, run club extraordinaire...just a big kid!!  Thankfully he still loves his Mama though, too, and will still sit on my lap sometimes while reading and asks for me to lay down with him some nights at bedtime which I will always do.  (It's definitely harder to get a kiss from him these days but thankfully he remains pretty generous with his hugs!).
He was so excited leading up to his big day which was especially bigger this year since it is his golden birthday-turning 7 on the 7th!!  He was up bright and early and awoke to a decorated doorframe of streamers and the downstiairs decorated in Ninjago!  Keeping up with the tradition of opening one gift in the morning he chose (with a little persuasion from me) to open a gift that was a Lego Ninjago set which started the day off right!!  He actually woke up with this crazy rash on his back, too, so was a little hesitant if I was going to send him to school or not but gave him some Benadryl and it went away so he headed to school.  He brought in blueberry muffins to share and had a great day at school!
Joseph continues to be kind, a sweet brother and friend, even-keeled, a rule follower, empathetic, a self directed learner, pretty much willing to do anything for electronics time and just such a blessing to our family.  We're so excited to see what lies ahead for him and will continue to be his biggest supporters and advocates.
His sisters sure do adore him.  He adores them, too, although these days he isn't too likely to admit that!
Putting together the lego set before heading to school!!
Even Jingle joined the birthday celebration!
After school we had church school so we went there (kind of a bummer on his birthday but he did great) and then came home to pizza from Filippis and celebrated with an ice cream cake (both his requests!). We opened presents after dinner and he was SO shocked to find out that he got a new tablet!!!  Love the video that we have of him opening it!
He's totally into Under Armor apparel so was excited to receive a new shirt!
Construction set from Nonna and Pop Pop.
Our big 7 year old!!
He requested ice cream cake so the girls and I made him Aunt Lindsay's famous ice cream pie which is such a favorite in our home now, too!  It was delicious and the perfect ending to a great celebration of his birthday!
Happy 7th birthday, buddy!  We love you!
