Joseph and Ella both had performances in the weeks leading up to Christmas break and Julia and Ella also did a small dance for parents, which, unfortunately for the blog, I didn't get any photos of, but thankfully I do have plenty of video!!
Ella's school performance was on December 13th and her 4 year old class sang four holiday songs which were great! There is a big potluck following the performance and we were lucky enough to have Nani join us so that made it extra special!
SO proud of this sweet girl! She did great up on the stage and was SO excited in the days/weeks leading up to the show!
Daddy couldn't take the time off from work but we were sure to video it for him and Ella was so excited to show him that night.
We are so blessed with having Nani and Poppa so close to us! Poppa was out of town but we are so thankful that Nani could make it.
Love these sweet girls of mine!
Got lucky with this picture!!
The following week, on December 21st, the first graders put on their performance. This performance was not holiday related at all (everything is SO standards based!!) but it was still fabulous and super fun. The performance was "How Does My Garden Grow" and most students had either a speaking or a dancing part. Joseph was a cabbage and had to memorize, "Plants, plants, hear me once and for all. These weeds are getting TOO tall!" He totally nailed it and spoke loudly and clearly and wasn't nervous at all. The songs were great, too, and he seemed to enjoy performing. He was lucky enough to have Nani AND Poppa both there-Daddy couldn't get away from work but he enjoyed watching it that night and hearing all about it! When we received notice about their parts I got online and found this trucker hat with a cabbage on it and decided that the $15.00 was worth it-the thought of creating some sort of cabbage costume just did not sound appealing to me so this totally worked!
Joseph's 1st grade class-Mrs. Matthews
I love being able to attend all of their school performances and am so grateful that I have this opportunity. So proud of these great kids!
