Lake Placid

On Friday morning, after breakfast in the cottage, we all headed into Lake Placid so Rich could drop off his bike and do a drive of the course.  We walked around the town for a bit and Joseph was excited to see snow!  Lake Placid is such a quaint, cute town with such an amazing backdrop!
Linz and I weren't sure what our day looked like but we threw a bunch of things in the car and figured we'd just play it by ear.  Well, we ended up leaving the cottage at 8:30 a.m. and not returning that night until 7:30 so it was definitely a full day but thankfully with a quick stop at the gas station for more diapers for Ella all went well.
We started off at the playground and then quickly moved over to the lake-I think the kids were in the water by 10:30 a.m.  We played there for awhile and then headed to grab some lunch and to explore the town.  They loved the big swings at the park.  This park was in the perfect place-it was right on the race course and basically in the middle of the everything at Lake Placid-very kid friendly area!
 It is beautiful here!
On our way to lunch, we roamed through the Ironman village to check it out and came across this super fast speedskater!
My friend, Allison, from college (who hosted the Geneseo reunion the day before) and her family drove up and spent the afternoon with us which was awesome.  They showed up around 1:00 just in time for Joseph and Logan to run in the Ironkids race.  The race was 1/4 mile and both boys ran with the dads and loved it.  Joseph wore his medal, shirt and backpack for the rest of the day!
He was pumped!

The kids' race was so crowded but what a view!
 He was very focused!
Daddy couldn't keep up with him!
Ironman and Ironkid
Joseph and Logan are just three months apart and became good buddies immediately

After the race we headed back to the beach to play for a few hours.
So much fun with Aunt Lindsay!!

Quick photo shoot with Ella and Griffin (Ella is just about a month older than Griffin)
After playing at the beach we walked through the town and met up with the Conley family and had dinner with the Conley and Janis family.  We ate at Jimmy's 21 which was fabulous...beautiful view, white tablecloths, excellent meal...perfect for 7 adults and 7 kids!  Ha!!  Thankfully we had reservations at 5:30 so we were in before it got too crowded and we were on the bottom level so it wasn't too crowded.  The kids were pretty good considering they were all excited to see one another and had been a long day for everyone...we ordered their food first and then ordered them all ice cream while we were eating so they kept pretty busy eating!
On the way to dinner we spotted an outdoor pavilion setting up for an Ironman concert in the park!  Such a pretty spot for a concert!
 Our view from dinner!
We are so glad that the Janis family came to spend the day with us-it was such a nice treat!  And, of course, it was awesome to be reunited with the Conley family that night.  Aunt Lindsay and I had so much fun with the kids while Daddy was busy getting things ready for the race and then once he was done it was such a fun day to all be together-a great first day in beautiful Lake Placid!
