Finishing off July

We had two days in New York after the race which were spent with friends and family which was a relaxing way to finish out the trip.  Fun photo shoot with the Conley crew before saying good-bye to them Monday morning. 

After a flight cancellation we ended up back in Texas on Wednesday morning.  Despite the cancellation, everything worked out pretty well and we had another successful trip with both kiddos.  Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures on Monday or Tuesday hanging out with family but we had such a nice time and it was so great to spend time with everyone.  

These pictures are from before our trip but technically are from the second half of July so figured I'd add them here.  

July 17th-Ella having fun at Kidville during bootcamp

 After Kidville we met friends at Alden Bridge pool to swim-we had rain off and on during our swim session and the kids had just as much fun playing in the rain as they did in the pool.

Joseph has been wearing my black boots around the house constantly pretending that he is a pirate (Jake from Jake and the Neverland pirates).  He walks pretty well in them, too :)

 She totally knows the drill with the pictures-she will back up into the wall, say "cheese" and then walk over to the camera to see her picture.

We have been playing a lot of "Jake" in our home (Joseph is Jake, Ella is Cubby, Mommy is Izzy and Daddy is Captain Hook) and this day Captian Hook tied Jake up to the bed!  

He worked really hard and was able to get himself free.  Captain Hook has taught him to tie a knot and he's gotten pretty good at it!  Joseph always brings toys to boot camp to play with during class and one day while I was teaching bootcamp I looked over at him and saw him pull the rope out of his backpack-I didn't realize that he had packed the rope and thankfully I caught him as he was trying to tie up another boy (although it did end up in tears from Joseph!)-had to remind him that some games are just for he and Daddy!

 Just a typical afternoon in our home!  Football player/Army soldier/pirate with my black boots all going to school and playing the drums.

 We've been building a lot of forts lately so here they are in one of the creations on July 21st.  This is what they were doing while I was packing for our trip to New York-kept them busy at least!

July was such an awesome month with lots of time spent with family and friends from all over the country plus lots of fun in between our trips here at home.  The summer is flying by and we are definitely enjoying it!!
