The newest Catholic

Ella was baptized at Saints Simon and Jude in The Woodlands on August 25th.

Her godparents, Justin and Anne Marie, were unable to make the trip out (which we totally understand especially since we just saw them in July) but thankfully our good friends, Monica and Jason Enia, were able to come and act as proxies for our sweet baby girl.  We had the Enia family over for brunch prior to the 1:30 ceremony which was a great time and thankfully Joseph and Elsie were pretty well behaved during the baptism-typical toddlers but overall really good.

We had to go to to 2 three hour classes for little Ella to get her baptized-there was actually supposed to be a third class but it ended up being cancelled due to the founding priest of the church passing away.  We are welcome to go to the next month's class though if we'd like! The church is actually going through renovations right now as well so the sacrament was held in the family hall but they have done a nice job of creating an altar so it was just like the real thing.  Father Matthew lead the mass and did a great job-Ella smiled every time that he came over to her which always made him laugh!  It was a pretty casual service which we appreciated.

Congratulations sweet Ella.  We hope that your faith guides you throughout your life and that you find guidance, support and love from the Catholic community.
