Ella Jane-8 months

Ella turned 8 months on August 22nd! This past month was definitely when she became much more "verbal". She is "talking" up a storm with "ba", "la" and lots of "da da da". She is also is quite the grunter. Dinnertime these days has become quite the loud event with her constantly grunting letting us know that she isn't getting food fast enough. She continues to be a great eater. A normal meal for her consists of half a banana (or more), 2 "ice cubes" of vegetables and 2-3 tablespoons of wheat cereal. And often she'll be wanting more when done!

She is getting her top teeth (looks like 3 or maybe 4 are popping through) so he naps have been all over the place lately. One day she'll sleep for 2 plus hours in her crib and the next day she will be up after 30 minutes and then finally crash back on me. Some days aren't as productive as others but definitely enjoying the snuggles though!

You can see part of her awful rash on her leg that she had this past month. On August 13th I took her in to the doctor and received medication for a yeast infection. It didn't clear up totally with the topical ointment so on August 24th we went back to the doctor (thank goodness for Saturday hours!) and came home with an oral antibiotic for ten days. Poor girl! (And on top of that she broke out into another rash on August 31st so we were back at the doctor and found out that she most likely had roseola, a common childhood virus that ends with a rash. That explains part of the extra clinginess the last week of August!)

Her face breaks into the biggest smile if she is up first and we go in together to get Joseph when he wakes up from his nap. I always knock on his door and she just smiles so big as I do that. Here they are hanging out in his bed as he is getting up. She is sleeping from 7:30ish until 6:30ish on most days-still have the occasional 5:30 wake up call. Her naps in the morning are still pretty much on the go and sporadic but man can she hang! As long as she is fed she is happy and chill.
