Moments to Remember

Joseph's little personality is just so much fun and he is such a joy to be around.  There have been a few conversations/events recently that we've wanted to be sure to document so we remember so here goes.
-Joseph and Daddy were in the garage and Daddy had a smelly piggie (yes, Aunt Laura, Joseph will call passing gas "piggying" for the rest of his life :) and Joseph looks at Rich and says, "Daddy, Daddy, I smell a skunk.  Help me look for the skunk out there!"  Rich couldn't stop laughing!
-He still loves singing "Take Me Out to the Baseball Game" but one of his other current favorites is "the America song" which is really Lee Greenwood's "I'm Proud to be an American."  The best part about it is after you sing "Houston" he says "I live in Houston" and when you say "Texas" he just yells "Texas!" and when you say "New York" he says "Aunt Lindsay lives in NY".  Too funny!
-The Conleys moved at the end of July to Ohio but Joseph still talks about Claire and Norah daily..  Many times he will just say "I miss Claire and Norah soooooooo much."    And his most recent thing is that he wants to go to college in Ohio and play football.  Ha!
Here he is with one of his good buddies (whose parents are also from Ohio.)  Maybe the two of them will end up being linebackers together.
-We may have a fashionister on our hands.  I know that I have blogged about this before but he changes clothes numerous times a day!  Right now I have two bins in his closet-one of 24 months/2T clothes that he has grown out of and one of 3T that are just a little too big for him and almost every day after nap he asks to dump out one of the bins and he spends a good chunk of time going through them and putting on different items.  He has recently found again his skeleton pants from last Halloween.  The shirt is too small so he won't wear that anymore (he tried it on but he wasn't happy with it since it was too tight) but the pants still fit so honestly he wears them almost every afternoon without a shirt.  If he isn't wearing the skeleton pants then he is either in just boxers (preference for the Elmo boxers or Superman) or in either his Ravens jersey, his Army jersey or his soccer jersey.  Thankfully he is good about changing into "real" clothes to go outside and does so without a fight.  He will always ask if he can wear whatever he has on (such as the skeleton pants) to wear to the park but when I tell him no he will go and change.  His friend Kason passed on a pair of sneakers to him which are still a bit big but Joseph loves wearing them and refers to them as his "cleats".
-Last week we were building the Superbowl stadium upstairs in Mr. Josh's room (yes, he still calls the playroom upstairs 'Mr. Josh's room' after the contractor that worked on the room last October) and I was having trouble understanding what he was saying.  He was saying "make a t*******"-I guessed "towel", "tire", "tractor" and finally he gave up and did this to me:
and I said, "Oh, tunnel!"  I was pretty impressed!
-We love watching his creativity while he is playing independently.  This stage is so fun watching them engage in imaginative play.  He was so proud of his truck tower!
-Recently while Ella was napping I decided to take out a few of the activities that we created in a toddler swap last year (really neat idea if you've never done it-check this site out:   http://therigneys.wordpress.com/2011/08/26/toddler-busy-bag-swap)
Anyways, just as I thought to myself, "Wow, he is really into this" he decided to pick up all of the cards and throw them up in the air and start running around the room singing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame".  We'll try again!
-Ella is a little brute, thank goodness, because Joseph has definitely taken a liking to almost wrestling with her and she just laughs and laughs and laughs.  He definitely pushes the limits every now and then with being too rough with her but for the most part does great but just loves to be right in her face but again, for the most part she loves it.  He will refer to her as "baby" sometimes which is just so cute and whenever anybody asks him what his sister's name is he always says, "Baby Ella."  It has been SO amazing watching them grow together.  I love how she now can almost give it back to him-she will grab him and pinch him (obviously not on purpose but that is what 8 month olds do) and he will get a little frustrated.  She'll also grab for toys that he is playing with.  She loves it when he gives her raspberries and really she just loves it when he does anything.  He gets her laughing so hard and bathtime is definitely our favorite time of the day.  Just seeing and hearing the two of them in the bath together is incredible!  We really hope  that they are always this close.
I wish Ella wasn't blurry in this picture but I just love how it captures both of them with their big smiles!
And just a sidenote-Joseph didn't sleep in these (it is still basically summer in Texas) but he likes to put them on to match Ella in her feet pajamas and then he changes before he goes to sleep.
To support his fashionister tendencies he is wearing pajama pants that are size 18 months with snowmen on them!  He loves wearing them still even though they are capris now instead of pants (thanks Weida family-they are one of his favorites!)
-Last week while grocery shopping Joseph spotted a football player!!  We were in the cereal aisle and all of a sudden he exclaims, "Look, Mom, a football player!!"  He was so excited about the Wheaties box that I had to buy them.  We got home and he wanted a bowl of cereal with milk and strawberries just like the football player.  We read the back of the box about Adrian Peterson, who is featured on the box, and now he talks about him all of the time.  If he is doing something that he isn't supposed to be doing he says "Mr. Adrian won't like that" or during dinner he'll say, "Mr. Adrian eats all of that" and so on.  He definitely can be bribed by what Mr. Adrian does or doesn't do!

-Almost everytime before he goes down for a nap or for bedtime he will ask for one more hug and one more kiss and then when we are at the door, ready to close it, he'll say, "I want to go to the park, go fishing, play baseball, play football and go to the park again."  The best part about this is that he always says it really fast and sometimes will keep adding things or repeating.  For example, tonight it went like this, "I want to go to the park, play football, play baseball, call Nani and Poppa, go to the park, go fishing with Daddy and Mommy and Ella and Nani and Poppa and Bubba and Hollie and go to the park and Mommy play with Kolton and Kason, and go to the park."  It cracks us up.  And when he says this we know that he will be asleep within minutes-happens like that every time!
-We moved him to a real big boy bed on September 3rd.  He transitioned into it without any trouble at all and sometimes is excited about it and other times tell us that he doesn't want to sleep in his big boy bed after waking up but doesn't give any trouble going down.  Not gonna lie, my eyes definitely got a little misty that first night closing his door-when did he get so big?!
And just a few pictures from Bouncing Bears at the end of August.  I remember not too long ago when he couldn't climb up these steps by himself and now there is no stopping him.  He did this over and over again.
And finally, just are a few pictures of how he kept himself entertained while I cleaned the bathroom last week:
 Love you buddy!
