9 months!

Almost to double digits!  Ella turned 9 months on September 22nd-it is just hard to believe that we are so close to 1 already!
She is busy, busy, busy!  Still not crawling on her knees yet but she is FAST on her belly!  She gets on to her knees and hands and will rock back and forth but then just go back down probably becasue she knows she can get to where she wants to go that way easier and quicker.  She is trying to pull up onto everything.  We caught her in her crib on August 28th standing up so the mattress was quickly lowered so she couldn't do that again.  She now loves just sitting in her crib though and it always makes me laugh when I look at the monitor and she is sitting instead of sleeping!

She has started doing scrunch face which Joseph did around this age as well.  She will scrunch her noise and breathe really loud repeatedly and then if you do it back to her she'll start laughing!  Funny baby girl.

She had her 9 month appointment on October 1st and weighed in at 19 pounds, 4 ozs and is 24 inches long.  Her weight is actually a little bit lower than it should be according to her growth curve so the doctor wants to get her weighed again in a month.  I am still exclusively nursing so my milk supply could be dwindling and with her on the move that is probably part of it, too.
She had a few rough nights this past month as her top 4 teeth are still trying to push all the way through and she did have a little cold that she fought with, too, but overall she is an excellent sleeper at night-basically 7ish to 6:45ish without a peep.

She loves, loves, loves to eat.  We haven't found anything that she won't eat or turn away from.  She is eating more finger foods these days and now that she is 9 months I'll start her on more variety (ground turkey, chicken and pasta are on the list for her first week of her 9th month!)

I just love the twinkle in her eye!  She has such a special spark about her!
All of her healthy eating habits are doing her body good :)
She is at the stage where tupperware in the cabinets has become fun!

Same with climbing through the cabinets!
Joseph and her are just so much fun to be around and they have such a great time together.   Joseph continues to just lover her so much and be so sweet with her.  We've started calling her "EJ" everyone once in awhile and Joseph just thinks that is hilarious.  He prefers "Ella bean", "baby" "peanut" or "sweet Ella".
Big girl-all by herself!
 She loved it!
Tried pigtails for the first time on September 20th and they were a success!  She looks so much older to me wearing them but I just think they are the cutest things ever!!

Happy 9 months sweet baby girl. We love you!

Fire Station Visit

On Friday, September 20th, one of my friends set up a tour at the fire station for our group.  We visited one back in March of this year and all of the kids had such a great time that we decided to check out the new fire station that was completed this past spring.  The kids had such a great time again.  This fire station had a real dalmatian, named Relay, that was definitely the highlight of the day!  The firefighters were great with the kids and Joseph just loved being able to look at the trucks and climb in them.

Since visiting the fire station we have been playing "firefighter" constantly at home.  He wears my boots and tells me to fall down and then he comes and helps me or he pretends that there is a fire and rides his horse (since his fire trucks aren't big enough to ride) to go and put out the fire.  He even uses a red bandana for a mask sometimes to stop the smoke.
On Saturday, September 21st I had an all day class to be certified through AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America) to begin teaching baby boot camp classes so Rich took the kids to the Children's Museum.  Rich said that Joseph played in the fire station exhibit for a VERY long time and was just SO excited.  He would run around saying "woo ooo woo ooo wooo oooo" and go from driving the fire station to sliding down the pole.
This past week Rich was was getting ready to read "Good Night Baby Jesus" to Joseph before bed and Rich told me that their conversation went as follows:
Rich:" Joseph, who is baby Jesus?
Joseph: "Umm, I don't know."
Rich: "Well, Jesus died for our sins and lives in heaven and loves us and keep us safe."
Joseph:"Oh, Firemen keep me safe."
Rich said he couldn't argue with that one!
