He's an angelfish!

Joseph started swim lessons at Fins in May 2012 and we have seen so much progress in the past year.  In the fall his teacher recommended that he move to the next level since he had mastered everything in the Baby Fins 2 class, but we were hesitant since the parent just stayed on the side of the pool and didn't work with the child so it seemed like a lot of waiting for the child since it was only the teacher working with them now.  At the end of December we finally moved him up to Baby Fins 3 and after only 6 weeks of this level the teacher told us that he was ready for the next level.  He is now in the Angel Fins II class which means no parent participation at all and he is in the BIG BOY pool!!  Rich had been taking Joseph on Saturday morning since September when I started to just feel too pregnant to be in the pool with him and then it worked out perfect because once Ella came they continued with the Saturday class and Ella and I had some quiet time at home and Joseph and Rich had some male bonding time.  However, now that he doesn't need a parent in the pool area with him we switched the class to Wednesday to keep our weekends free and Ella and I can just watch him through the glass.  There is only one other girl in the class which is totally awesome since it is basically a private lesson.  Joseph has loved the water since a newborn and still continues to LOVE it.  I love how in the video his face is underwater for almost 5 seconds-that is totally him!
The first two pictures are from his last class in the baby fins class in the small pool.

And here he is in the big boy pool-and check him out wearing his goggles!  The only thing that he wanted from Santa this past year (well that and a weed wacker!)
We are so proud of him and the way that Ella kicks and moves around in the bath she may be following in his footsteps real soon.
