On Friday, March 1st, a friend of ours set up a tour of a fire station for our group of friends. Joseph, like all of the kids in our group, is pretty much obsessed with fire trucks so he was in heaven. The fire station that we toured is the one closest to our home which we pass every day and every time we pass it we have to check to see if the garage is open or closed and if the firetrucks are there or if they are out helping someone, so he was pretty excited as we pulled into the fire station.
Ella was pretty excited that morning about our field trip, too!
Yay for fire stations!
The kids were so excited and were on their best behavior-they really seemed to pay attention (well as best as 2 and 3 year olds can!) The firefighters did catch on quickly that their presentatnion of the station was geared towards older kids so they cut it real short real fast. They were great with the kids-I am sure a bit overwhelmed by 15 toddlers but were really entertaining and were great sports.
We started off the tour in the kitchen-good buddies holding hands!
Then moved on to the gym to get a quick workout in
Then checked out the bedrooms-I was actually pretty impressed-they each have their own room and everything was very clean.
Then came the fun stuff!
These boys stood like this for the entire time when the fireman was talking about the ax-it was so cute.
They seriously seemed so interested in what he was saying!
Checking out the seats!
Joseph was really intrigured wtih the firefighter who showed us how he got dressed. He stood just like this the entire time while he put on his gear.
However, once the firefighter put on the mask Joseph backed away and came and stood by me-it took him a bit to warm up to the fireman with the mask on but he found another firefighter who was willing to let him put his hat on which eased the scariness of the firefighter with the mask.
Lots of fun outside spraying the firehose.
He loved giving this firefighter high fives and at one point he went up to his leg and just gave him a big hug.
Group picture!
This makes me laugh because Joseph is trying to give "baby Tucker" a kiss-he loves this little guy!
Still trying for that kiss
Towards the end the kids were able to get some of their energy out just running around the garage which they loved!
After the tour we headed over to a park for lunch and some playing outside on this beautiful day.
Joseph found a picnic table underneath the playscape and decided to eat his lunch here.
He is a climbing monkey!
And finally the 2012 (and one 2013) babies all together!
Tucker-August, Eva-November, Ella-December and Evan-January
