Transition period

We are in this weird transition period for awhile since the big kids are back at school, but Ella is only half day for the first six weeks, and Julia doesn't start school until after Labor Day; so we are somewhat in a routine but it is strange because it isn't what the real routine is going to look like in the upcoming month or so...but we are going with it and making the most of it!
The first real day of school felt so weird just having Julia and Charlotte around and we definitely missed Joseph and Ella.  The girls had swim lessons so that kept our morning busy and they are both doing so well!  We have one more lesson to finish out August and then will take a break until next summer.  If Charlotte keeps progressing like she has been this summer I think we'll have all four kids swimming by the beginning of next summer-woo hoo!!
We met up with Finn and Lindsay the following day to run at Miramar which is always nice.
Still summer weather here for sure so Charlotte is still sporting the shades!
Back to Friday cul de sac time-love these kids and this tradition!
Char snuggling with Daddy when he showed up from work on Friday afternoon.

We checked at a new park after picking up school supplies on Saturday.
Four Ducotes on the swings!

Sweet Jules!!!
On Sunday we headed to Coronado to celebrate Sydney's 7th birthday!!
We started at their house for presents and then made our way to the concert in the park, which is always so much fun!!
Happy birthday Syd!  We love you!
Love all of these kids and how awesome they are together!
The cupcakes were a huge hit!
As was wrestling with Uncle Bubba!
It has been fun having some one on one time with Julia and Charlotte again.
We watched Finn a few days at the end of the month while Linz went back to work and Nani was gone and of course everyone loved having him around!
Even though school is back in session, doesn't mean that summer is over.  Relaxing with Julia R. after school one day!
And then out of the pool and hanging out together at Julia's house.  These girls are such sweet friends and we are glad that Julia comes home with us 2 days a week now since Ava is at middle school and they are juggling pick ups.  We adore having her around!
We went to the Martins for an end of summer pool party which was so great to see them and catch up and to meet most of their neighbors, too!
After school and Ella is ready to play (Brandon got a huge new gun)!!
Cool shot from Chris of our after school time...I am going to miss this for sure once we move.  It looks as if everything is going through with the move and we are excited but it is definitely bittersweet since we LOVE our neighbors.  I have to keep reminding myself what we keep telling our kids is that thankfully we are all good friends now so we'll continue to see them regularly and our friendship won't change.  We are so thankful for them though!
It's been a great start to the school year and although it will be nice to get Julia in the school routine, too, I am going to miss having her around.  She starts next week so hoping all goes well with her, too!  These kids are getting too big!!!
