Gram Ducote

A few months ago, Rich's grandmother, "Gram", called me and said that she had an airline ticket that she needed to use and since she hadn't met "that new baby of yours" she wanted to see if she could come.  She is 94!!  She flew by herself and Rich met her right at the plane and in true Gram fashion she walks out with the captain of the plane carrying her bags!  She arrived on Thursday, March 12th and her and Rich were home in time for dinner.  On Friday, after dropping Joseph off at school, Rich, Gram, the girls and I headed to Market Street to ride the trolley and to have lunch at Tommy Bahamas.  It sprinkled a little bit but cleared up enough to walk around Market street a bit and Gram enjoyed the trolley ride and seeing the downtown area of The Woodlands.
On Saturday we all headed back to the Market Street area but today decided to ride the waterway taxi (boat).  This was our first time riding the boat, too, and it was a beautiful spring day to do so.  We had to wait for awhile for it to pick us up but we sat in the park and the kids were happy running around and we were happy enjoying the gorgeous weather and views.  After riding it to the mall area and grabbing lunch at Panera we hopped back on and took it back to town green.  It was such a nice way to spend the day!

Checking out the sights!
With their glasses on!
Heading home after a fun day!

Gram left early Sunday morning so it was a quick visit but we are so thankful that she made the trip and that we were able to give her a glimpse into our life here in The Woodlands.  The kids loved her (Joseph was won over when upon her arrival when she opened her suitcase and had a Marshall dog from Paw Patrol for him) and she was so wonderful with them all.  Her mind is still so sharp, she has an incredible memory and she is just really so kind that we feel so blessed and we just all really enjoyed visiting with her.
