The Zoo

We headed to the zoo with Nani on Monday, April 7th.  It was beautiful out and we had a great day. We were there a little after 10 and stayed until a little before 2:00, even finishing the day with a ride on the train around Memorial Hermann Park.

There was a baby elephant which was pretty fun to see.  Joseph asked if the elephant's name was "Shubba" which was the elephant from the zoo in San Diego that we visited back in October-pretty impressed with his memory!
Of course he needed his picture in the lion's mouth!
And, attempted to get his picture on the giraffe.  There were about ten middle schoolers ready to pounce on the giraffe so we made Joseph get on and off really fast!
Nani treated us to a ride on the carousel.  Ella is not a fan of carousels-she won't sit on the animals!  Joseph loves it although it doesn't appear like he does in the photo below.
Last stop at the zoo was the petting zoo-both kids are big fans of petting the goats, although for some reason I didn't get any pictures of the goats!
This was our first time on the train ride on the park and it was really nice!  It takes you all around Memorial Hermann Park which is very pretty!  The hospital where Ella was born is right across the street from one side of the park so was able to point that out to Nani.
Such a fun day!
