Super Nani

We were fortunate to have my mom here for 2 weeks when Ella arrived.  She arrived on Christmas night to meet Ella and stayed to help us while Rich went back to work and with the transition of one kid to 2.  She was amazing!  I don't think I cleaned a dish, folded a piece of laundry, cleaned the house or cooked a meal while she was here.  One day I went to run a few errands and came home and she was cleaning the oven!  And not only did she do pretty much everything around the house but she was also such a huge help with Joseph and Ella. I think she slept pretty well at night since we kept her very busy during the day.  We are so appreciative of her help and it was such a treat having her spend two full weeks with us.  Rich refers to her as "Super Nani" and now when he doesn't feel like doing dishes he will say, "I wish super Nani was still here!'  We all miss her!
Some snuggle time with Nani

Joseph just loves her so much and had such a great time with her.  Every morning he would help her make her tea as they sang "I'm a little teapot"and then he would have her playing-normally they were in mid-game before her tea was even ready.  They built a lot of blocks, read hundreds of stories (no exaggeration!), went on walks, played at the park, baked cookies, colored, painted-the list could go on forever! He still talks about her constantly and when he dries his hands after going to the bathroom he asks to sing like Nani (a song about drying his hands) and thankfully she just got an iphone so he is able to see her more frequently and even called her this morning at 5:30 San Diego time wanting to facetime!  Sorry Mom!

We had to get one last photo shoot with her before she left.  Notice the Halloween mask pajamas-still popular in 2013!

I think the next picture is a "gentle" touch...something that overall he is good at but we remind him  of ALL of the time!
Hmmm, maybe it wasn't a gentle touch since Nani is now holding his hand!
 And finally a good one!!
We love you Nani and can't wait to see you next month! Thank you again!
