Layover

Since moving to Houston this was my dad's third time that he has been able to extend his layover overnight to see us while en route to his final destination.  He was on his way to New Orleans to get ready for the Superbowl but was able to stop and stay in Houston on Sunday, January 13th.  Joseph was so excited that Poppa was coming and told me the day before that he wanted to do the following things with Poppa:  "Belly bump, tackle, ra-raz (raspberries), and  head bump."  These are all things that he is not supposed to do with Momma or Ella (only with Daddy and Poppa) so he was super excited to have another person to join in on the fun.

We picked my dad up around noon and I just love seeing Joseph's smile when he sees all of his grandparents-he gets SO excited!

After lunch, a little bit of playing and a nap, Joseph and Poppa were ready to hit up the park.  It was pretty chilly out but they managed to play for quite some time and had a blast.  They came back and watched some football together and got to spend time with Ella and myself and then Daddy made it home in time for dinner so we were all able to enjoy dinner together.  Poppa left the next morning before Joseph was up but Joseph called him at the airport to say bye and that helped the constant, "Poppa, where are you?" that he was asking when he woke up. It was a short but great visit.  Thanks Poppa for making it happen!
Ella was asleep when I took this picture so we'll have to wait until next time to get another picture.
