Day 2 was Sunday and it began with a relaxing morning of breakfast and hanging out around the cabins. Then at 10 there was a campground hayride so we decided to join in on the fun. The kids were excited and loved waving at the campers as we drove by.
After the hayride we packed up and headed the 4 miles down the road to Lake Conroe where you can swim off of the shore-most of Lake Conroe is private swimming areas due to all of the homes on the lake. We found a spot to set up camp for the day and Joseph went straight for the water. This swimming area is a far cry from anything in San Diego (lets just say I wore my slippahs (flip flops) in the water) but Joseph didn't care and spent the entire time in the water.
Father son talk
We got home from swimming in time for a late afternoon nap and even a quick swim at the campground pool again and then we were in charge of entertaining the kids while the other two families cooked. Rich was the entertainer and had the kids mesmerized (and the adults in hysterics) with his reading and acting out of books.
Claire thought it was so funny at one point she fell out of her chair. It was priceless and this picture makes me crack up every time just seeing her little feet!
The kids devouring the watermelon before dinner!
Getting a little soccer practice in before bed
The kids headed to bed around 8 again and the adults enjoyed smores, banana boats (a Girl Scout speciatly from my friend Val) and some adult beverages to unwind from the fun and busy day!
