Rich's Days!

Even though Rich's birthday and Father's Day are always super close to one another (if not on the same day) we try to make each day extra special for him letting him know how much we love and appreciate him.
This year, Father's Day was on Sunday, June 16th and his birthday was the day after.  We had a busy weekend with fun events so we had planned on celebrating his birthday a little early on Friday night but unfortunately that was when Julia wasn't feeling well so we postponed that until the following Friday.  This was the first time that the kids have gone to Bucas and they LOVED it!!  The nude statues, the food, the giant ice cream...they loved it all!  We'll definitely be back!
We then celebrated Father's Day with him on Sunday morning with breakfast at a diner in Escondido and lots of sweet gifts from the kids.

After breakfast and church we made our way to Nani and Poppa's to celebrate all of the amazing fathers in our family.  A little water balloon time, a little baseball time, a little pool time all makes for a wonderful day!

While the day was focused on the dads we also celebrated my mom's 70th birthday since this was the first time that we have all been together since her birthday and their cruise.  We reupholstered the little rocking chair for her and the kids made a "70 reasons why we love Nani" book (it worked out really well that there are 7 grandchildren right now so each child did 10 reasons).  It came out super cute and I just adore these next few pictures of Nani with all of the grandkids.
Now, back to Rich!  On Monday, his birthday, he took the day off from work since the company gives that to them so he went for a run that morning and then we opened birthday presents.  Syd and Cole spent the night so they were here for all of the fun, too!  We hung out for awhile at home and then brought all of the kids back to Nani and Poppa's because Rich and I actually had a meeting with a financial advisor (happy birthday to him!  ha!) but thankfully we did sneak lunch in at a bbq place after for a little celebration.  He had class that night so once we got him the celebrating was over and it really was back to reality but we hope he knows how much we love, appreciate and admire him.
Happy Birthday and Happy Father's Day!!
