I love, love, LOVE the 4th of July! Everything about it-the family time, the love of America, the fireworks, the food, the fun...LOVE it all! This 4th of July didn't disspaoint either. It was a FULL day but amazing! We started the day bright and early and were out of the house by 8 am on our way to Coronado. Thanks to Dave we had amazing seats right on the parade route so casually walked down to our spots right before the parade began and enjoyed the breakfast buffet that we all potlucked for.
On our way!!
Every year the parade is great and always puts you in the spirit of the 4th, especially in this very military friendly community. The kids enjoy watching it but also enjoy bouncing back and forth between autos and uncles and cousins and Nani and Poppa and just having a blast together. We even got to see the Alticks quickly before the parade who are in Coronado for the month so we are looking forward to getting together with them again soon! We missed the Zicklers today since they were in Big Bear but we still had a great time with the rest of the crew!
Poppa saying hi to someone that he knew-he always knows someone!!!
These sweet girls made the Coronado Facebook page! Celebrities!
After the parade we drove south (even though you can't go much more south than Coronado) and stopp[ed by a bbq with some of Rich's co-workers. We were there long enough to grab a hot dog, for Joseph to play some soccer and the girls to play on the playground. It meant a lot to Rich's co-workers that we stopped by so I am glad we did, although it did feel a little rushed to get back to RB for the Botero cul de sac party that started at 2! We made it though and of course, had an amazing time at the cul de sac party!
Water balloons, a piñata, nerf guns, all of our great friends and lots of delicious food...what could be better than that? The kids had a blast and it was the perfect way to spend the afternoon!
Sad faces for missing Lynn!
So many kids!!
All of the ladies! I was so glad that I snapped a quickness picture of these 4 sweet kids in between events today! We are so thankful that we live in this beautiful country and are so appreciative of our freedom and especially to those who serve to allow us to live like this.
We ended the day with the RBHS fireworks which has become our 4th of July tradition. We sent Charlotte home to bed with Daddy and the older 3 kids and I snuck out to the golf course behind the house that I grew up in. It is the perfect spot where we don't have to deal with traffic or crowds and we love snuggling up together watching them! So fun for all of us! One of these years we'll bring Charlotte and Daddy along with us. Ella was just excited that she made it this year since last year she put herself to sleep before we left! We are glad she made it this year, too!
The perfect day! Happy 4th of July!
