Memorial Day Weekend

It is hard to believe that Memorial Day weekend is upon us!  Summer is almost here!!
We got ready for the weekend by celebrating at Stroller Strides on Wednesday with a parade!  The kids decorated their scooters and bikes and paraded around the park-too cute!!
We had a fun weekend planned kicking it off with a bbq at a friend's house that we know through Joseph's wrestling program.  I didn't get any pictures but the kids swam all morning/early afternoon long and everyone had a great time.
After the bbq the older three kids and I walked to the school because the art show was taking place all day. We found Joseph's art work from Art Corps (a program that volunteers run once a month) and got to check out all of the other art work along with running into friends and having some fun in the photo booth.

After church on Sunday I took the older 3 kids to a birthday party for a good friend of ours at Pump It Up which is a favorite for the kids.
We then headed downtown to Waterfront Park with the Tirado family for the Hullabaloo concert, although our crew preferred playing on the park over the concert.  It was fun to picnic in the park though and to play!

On Monday, after both Rich and I went for a run, we made our way over to Webb Park, since we heard that they were having a ceremony.  We ran into friends so hung out at the pond for awhile and then actually opted not to stay for the ceremony since it appeared to be not as kid friendly as we originally thought.  I ended taking the kids home but Rich stayed for it and then met us back at home which worked out well for everyone.
We rounded out the long weekend by a bbq at Nani and Poppa's so headed there for the rest of Monday.  It was a great day of relaxing, swimming, eating and hanging out!
We even celebrated Finn's birthday, a few weeks later, so everyone helped him open his presents.
We are so thankful for those that have given everything for our freedom and kept them in our mind this weekend.
