Our good friend from Hawaii, Steph, had to go to Dallas for a conference the first week in December and knowing that she was so close to us we were so excited to steal her away from the conference for a few days to visit with her. I drove up to pick her up on Thursday, December 5th. Our original plan was for us to spend the night in Dallas and then drive back to The Woodlands on Friday but Dallas was supposed to get snow and ice on Friday so we decided to head back to our house on the same day. We had lunch at Twisted Root Burger Co., which was featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives on the Food Network, and enjoyed catching up over burgers (well, turkey burgers for both of us but still delish!) The three hour car ride back to our house flew by as we chatted the entire time and caught up on the past almost 3 years! It was like no time had passed! We made it home in time for dinner and for her to see Joseph and to meet Ella. That night Rich, Steph and I had a great time catching up!
On Friday, unfortunately, it was rainy and cold so we couldn't do much sightseeing but I did take her to my baby boot camp class and then we roamed around the mall a little bit. We came back home to let the kids nap and then went out again to Target and to pick up pizza at our favorite spot, Grimaldi's. We talked about going out that night but decided to stay in so we could hang out with Rich, too. It was a fun night reminiscing and laughing. Her flight left early Saturday morning so it was a quick trip but we are so thankful that she made the time for us. We hope to see her and the rest of her family soon!! Thanks so much for visiting Steph!
