Halfway to 1-that sounds so crazy! Ella turned 6 months on June 22nd and it is so hard to believe that she has been here for 6 months and that we are halfway to her first birthday. She had her 6 month check up on June 28th and weighed in at 18 pounds, 8 ounces putting her in the 85th percentile and measured at 26 inches long putting her in the 49th percentile. Still short and chunky but oh so cute!
She's had quite an exciting past month.
-She started solids on June 2nd and continues to love everything that we have given her. She is eating between every 3 and 4 hours during the day but going 10 hours at night. So far we've only been doing solids once a day but the doctor said that now she is 6 months she should be eating solids for breakfast, lunch and dinner so we'll start that.
-She is a rolling machine! I often put her down in the family room and she ends up almost to the kitchen. It is so amazing watching her go!
-She is starting to scoot around a little bit putting her cute little bottom up in the air.
-I'm not positive of the day that she officially sat up on her own but she was doing it by June 10th for sure, so sometime before then.
-During the last week in May she really started embracing the pacifier and loves it now! It probably has something to do with her first two teeth popping through! They popped through right before she turned 6 months!
-She loves, loves, loves the bath and the the pool. I love that she is sitting up now and it makes it so much easier to bathe her and we bathe her and Joseph together in our big tub. She could honestly sit in there forever and play. Look at how long her hair is wet! And don't you just love the baby back fat?!?
She had her first ponytail a few days after her 6 month birthday (June 24th) but figured I would include it here. So cute!
She is always watching Joseph and I think is going to be a stubborn little one. When we are reading books together she always is reaching for the books which gets Joseph fired up and she has started reaching for his toys when they are sitting next to one another (which also fires him up!)
She just totally goes along with everything though. She is a trooper and just hangs with our busy days always with a smile on her face. We were going through Joseph's baby clothes to pass on to cousin Cole and he wanted Ella to wear the ball onesie-we threw a headband on her and she rocked it!
She continues to bring such joy to our lives and we are so thankful and feel so blessed that she is a part of our little family. We love you Ella Bean!
