Goggles on!

Joseph is still going to weekly swim lessons and loving it.  It seems as if every week we see more and more improvement.  He is definitely comfortable with his teacher and she has had to scold him a few times for being a little too rambunctious.  He gets really excited and often times will yell his answers...for example, "Do we swim alone?" And he yells very loudly, "Noooooo!"  Glad that he knows the answer but not the most polite way to respond.  I am glad that she is comfortable enough with Joseph to discipline him if needed.  We have been talking with him about the polite way to answer questions so hopefully some of it is sinking in.  Another thing that he does is to take his goggles off of his head constantly.  After every turn he will take them off making the teacher take extra time to put them back on him.  So, last week we talked with him about keeping his goggles on for the entire lesson and told him that if he did we would take him out for ice cream after...well this caught his attention and he did great!  He kept the goggles on for the entire class-guess the ice cream was the motivation he needed!

He is getting really good at the back float-this past week he was able to do it without Miss Ginger's help!

And of course for class this past week he asked if he could get ice cream after class...smart cookie!  I explained to him that it was a special treat and he seemed to be ok with it and thankfully he kept his goggles on for the class!
