Getting Ready

We decided to throw a Halloween party to have all of our friends over so the kids could be together to trick-or-treat, and to get the adults together, too!  We talked a lot about the party and about Halloween so Joseph was definitely excited.  He spent a lot of time practicing saying "trick or treat" and then "thank you" after.   A lot of the yards in our neighborhood were decorated for Halloween and when walking to the park he would always point out the "halloween masks" or "sarecrows" or "happy ghosts."  He also wanted to wear his helmet as much as he could before the actual day.
The YMCA close to us had a Halloween festival the Saturday before Halloween so we headed up there for a few hours with friends to practice wearing his costume, too.
And, of course, he had to test out the trick or treat bag that I made for him (with the help of Nani).  Thanks again for your help Mom!  I couldn't have done it without you-definitely not the easiest "beginner" project.
The finished product!!
Of ocurse we had to carve our pumpkin from the patch to make a happy jack-o-lantern as Joseph kept calling it.  "No sad, no scary, happy!"
He wasn't too crazy about the seeds or taking them out but did love the finished product!

Now we are ready for Halloween!
