July Memories!

Summer was in full swing in July and so much fun with the cousins!  We had a great routine of hanging out in the mornings most days and then meeting up with the Ozecks around lunchtime either at Nani and Poppa's to swim, at the beach or they'd come over to swim and play.  About once a week we'd throw in a bike around Miramar, a sleepover, dinner together, fishing, playing at the park or something along those lines.  Honestly, they didn't even realize covid was happening (and I sometimes forgot unless if I'd check the news on my phone) because they were having so much fun together and the days were always filled with each other.

For most of the sleepovers Ella would hang with the boys...she kind of bounces back and forth between playing with Syd and Julia and then the boys but normally for the sleepovers would want to stay with the boys.  Thankfully they were both really good with her and didn't mind-I think she likes the break from Jas much as she loves playing with Sydney, I think she likes the break from Julia and Char every once in awhile so this is a good way to get it!

Charlotte loves making pancakes for Poppa when she sleeps over ;). It's their little joke how she always make him a tiny little pancake!  Poppa printed this picture out for Char and it is in a frame in her bedroom-she slept with it for the first few days when she received it.
We celebrated Lindsay's birthdat at our house with swimming, bbq and of course, ice cream pies!!
Their favorite place to be!!  These two are sooo funny together!  Well, funny, until one of them starts crying!  Ha!  They can be the best of friends but also can bring out the worst in one another and pick at each other.  They both have similar personalities of being stubborn and wanting their own way (that's also just being 4/almost 4) so fingers crossed they outgrow it!
If you ask the cousins, the highlight of the summer probably would be the sleepover at Uncle Bubba and Aunt Hollie's...not sure if Bubs and Hollie agree but we are so thankful for them for this memory and for so much fun for the kids!!  All of the kids said it was the best night ever and Charlotte cried for days after saying how much she missed them (even though we saw them 2 days later-ha!!) So much fun though and they are so brave for doing this!!!

July continues with SO much pool time!! Honestly, we are so thankful with the timing of our pool and how it all worked out and couldn't be happier with all of the memories made in it this summer.

And, so many popsicles devoured this summer!
Nani and Poppa's pool continues to be amazing, too!
Lots of great beach days, too.  Joseph is totally into trying to surf on the boogey board and Ella can get up there, too.  They are definitely beach babes and it has been so much fun watching them this summer.  Plus, way easier this summer now that Charlotte is older and Julia is a more confident swimmer!
Love this picture!  Just wish Julia was in it because then it would just sum up our summer together!
Some random summer fun, too!  We had donuts from something leftover and Charlotte found them so of course she asked to do donuts on a string...this has been the summer of "yes" so of course I said, sure, why not?!?  Definitely the best way to eat a donut!
Julia put on a yoga class one morning which was a great way to start the day.  She had everything set up, even yoga mats for us, and lead the entire class.

So much creativity happening in this house and SO much tape being used.  Julia, is definitely the queen of the tape and will go through rolls of tape in a day-she is always creating something, and then not picking up after herself ;), but we love seeing her creations, like this swing for Jessicake below!

Speaking of creativity...this is how Charlotte greeted me one morning! You never know what you'll find here!
And then there's this one, too!

We celebrated Sydney's birthday in the middle of July a few weeks prior to her real birthday.  Their original plan was to fly back to Virginia on July 31st and with Nonna and Pop Pop coming to visit us the last week in July we had to celebrate early...but then they ended up extending their tickets, which was awesome, so she ended up being her on her actual birthday, too, so we had double the celebrations!  She planned out an entire puppy party full of fun for everyone!
The Byers' came to visit for a later afternoon/dinner quick visit!  They had just landed in LA for Will's clinical trial at UCLA and were amazing and drove down to see us which made for a very long day of travel for hem.  We are so thankful that they made the trip and I think the swim in the pool and dinner helped after a long day.  We wish they could have stayed longer but are always so grateful that whenever they are even in the state of CA they make it a point to see us.  Now we're praying that the drugs from the clinical trial help Will.
A few samples of the typical random selfies found all day, every day!
Nonna and Pop Pop came to visit at the end of July for 6 days (we had a wonderful visit and the details are on another post) but after their visit we didn't see my family for a week just to be safe around baby Nora since Nonna and Pop Pop flew on an airplane and weren't sure of any germs they were bringing.  Thankfully everyone was fine and crazy enough during the week after the kids were totally fine about not seeing everyone-we just didn't bring it up and kept busy during the days finding things to do just us or meeting up  safely with friends.
We grabbed lunch one day and had a picnic at a park in 4s Ranch.
Our friends, the Clintons, moved from Washington to here at the beginning of the summer but because of covid we hadn't seen them yet so we finally met them at the beach one day.  The kids hit it off immediately (they had met one other time in February) and it was fun for Christie and I to catch up.
We also met up with the Martins at the beach one day and it was so great to see them, too.  The kids always pick up right where they left off and have so much fun together!
Finally to end out the month, we are not only thankful for our amazing family but also for incredible friends.  We are surrounded by such thoughtful people who make us so happy.  Our friends, the Searcy family, dropped off fun balloons for the kids with glitter inside and messages and it totally made the kids day!  Even though there is so much trouble in the world today we are so grateful that in our bubble we are surrounded by the most caring, thoughtful and loving people.  We know that these people have great impact on our kids and that is all we can ask for.
