Atlanta!

We made a quick but super great trip to Atlanta in August to visit with everyone before school started.  Rich is almost out of vacation days so we couldn't spend too much time away but we were so excited to see everyone and it was totally worth it!  We left midday on Thursday, August 10th and returned on Monday, August 14th.  The kids were SO excited about the plane going there and had a few complaints on the way back about it being too long but they all did great and we didn't have any problems at all.  Charlotte was definitely busy but she was happy so we didn't complain about having to bounce her back and forth between us and being a constant entertainment for her as long as she wasn't putting up a fuss!  Joseph, Ella and Julia passed around iPads, laptops and cell phones and snacks...ltos and lots of snacks!  Ha!  They were seriously so good though!  The hardest part of the travel is once we arrive in Atlanta and we get our luggage and then we send Rich to get the car-it always takes about a half hour or longer so that just seems to add so much time to the trip especially once everyone is just anxious to be there but we grabbed some dinner, hung out on the luggage playing games and people watching and made it work.  We were definitely excited to be at Nonna and Pop Pops that night although we didn't arrive until 11:00 p.m. and the kids weren't asleep until close to 1:00 a.m.!  Lots of excitement!
Everyone slept in on Friday morning which was great and we had a lazy morning hanging out with Nonna and Pop Pop and then decided to head to Jump Julmp (the local bounce house) with Nonna for a few hours to get some energy out before evyerone else arrived.  Even Charlotte had a blast in the toddler/baby section!
Once we got home from Jump Jump we waited patiently (or impatiently!!) for everyone to arrive!  Gary, Amber, Max and Annabelle were the first with Gina, Brian and the boys not far behind and then the fun really began!!  I barely saw Joseph and Ella for the rest of the weekend and Julia would only check in every once in awhile!  These kids had so much fun together and just played, played, and played some more.
On Saturday we just all hung out waiting for everyone else to arrive-by mid afternoon everyone was there so of course that called for a 2 hour game of Capture the Flag!  Don't all families do that together?!  SO fun!  Joseph, Ella, John and Michael had a blast playing with all of the aunts and uncles and everyone was a sweaty, dirty mess by the end!

All of the aunts and uncles stayed for a great bbq that night and then made their way back to their respective homes.  Gary, Amber and crew were up early Sunday morning to catch their flight back so it was just us and Gina, Brian, Michael and John so after breakfast and church with Nonna and Pop Pop we headed back to Jump Jump for a few good hours of indoor, air conditioned fun there.  It was definitely hot and humid this weekend.  The kids had a blast!
Ella found a perfect spot to stay cool!  There was a hole in the fabric so the air would just shoot out which sent her hair flying and cooled her hair down!
After another trip to the park and dinner, Michael and John had to head back home since they had school the following day.  We all crashed early that night since we had an early flight the following morning and were exhausted from all of the fun over the weekend.  The flight home went just as well-at least Charlotte slept a little on this flight!  We made it home around noon so Rich into work for half the day, I took the kids to Costco, unpacked a little and then we were all in bed by 7:30 that night!  We are grateful that we had such a fun, whirlwind weekend with everyone and are looking forward to seeing everyone at Greg and Jacqueline's wedding in December!!   I can't believe that I didn't get a picture of all of the cousins (and not even one with Annabelle and Max!!!) so will have to take LOTS in December!  Here is a great one of the oldest three cousins-they have such a special bond and we just love how a year can go by and they pick up like they saw one another the day before-so thankful for such awesome family!
