Rich's mom, Nonna, came to visit from Friday, October 24th through Tuesday the 28th. We had such a fun, long weekend with her! The weather was great and we enjoyed some fall activities with her.
On Friday evening we headed to the pavillion for Hocus Pocus Pops where the Houston Symphony put on a great concert of spooky music! The kids wore their Halloween costumes, participated in Halloween activities and then we spent about an hour listening and dancing to the music. It was a gorgeous night and lots of fun!
On Saturday morning Joseph had a t-ball game and he was excited to have Nonna cheer him on. Their team has definitely made so many improvements in the past few weeks and although they ALL still run to wherever the ball is hit to try to get it first they are having fun and are looking much better. Joseph is still enjoying it and I think most importantly having fun with Daddy helping out and being out on the field with him (oh, and, of course the snacks!)
Joseph and his buddy, Bryce, in the dugout.
After the game we stopped for lunch and then headed to P6 farms for some fall fun. This was our first time visiting P6 farms and we really enjoyed it. It was out in the country and was really a neat seat up. The corn maze was so much fun and Joseph loved leading the way and reading the story throughout the maze. Ella was pretty tired by that point and walked about half of it but the second half fell asleep on Daddy's shoulder and took a quick cat nap. They both really enjoyed the pig races and all of the other fun that it had to offer.
Julia getting ready to get into the carrier (loving the k-tan carrier that I am using with her!) She snoozed the entire time we were there in the carrier which is why she isn't in any of the pictures.
Joseph and Daddy having wheelbarrow races!
Climbing on the hay barrels...all was great until Ella ended up with a mouthful of hay!
Nonna took Joseph in this while I was feeding Julia-I wish that I had gotten a picture of it!! She said Daddy went much faster with Joseph though.
Riding the "swings"
Rich walked next to Ella for the first time around but she definitely caught on fast and wanted to do it by herself like the big kids so we just watched by the side. Such a big girl!
Getting ready for the pig races.
Here they come!
Hard to see but here we are
We had a great time in the corn maze! They had two different mazes set up (a 45 minute route and a 15 minute route). We chose the 15 minute maze which was perfect for us.
PLaying a few games on the way to the pumpkin patch.
Ella passed out during the maze but woke up just in time to pick out our pumpkin.
Yay! We found it!
Such a fun day!
On Sunday we went to church and then Nonna and I did a little shopping which was a nice treat and then we all carved our pumpkin that we picked up at P6 farms the day before.
On Monday I took Nonna to bootcamp with me which was my first class teaching back at Creekside. Nonna did great and finished the entire class-everyone was impressed! We played at the park for awhile after with Ella and then headed home for naps and lunch. Terri watched the girls so I could go to the grocery store by myself and to pick Joseph up from school which is always appreciated! We walked over to the park that afternoon before dinner and just enjoyed playing together at home.
On Tuesday morning we met her friend, Sydney, who was picking her up to bring her back to Dallas at the library before we went in for storytime. The kids were dressed up for storytime since the library did a Halloween event and parade after storytime. It was fun!
We had such a nice visit with Nonna. She was a great help and the kids really enjoyed spending time with her-Ella still talks asks about "Nonna" and we all look forward to her next visit in February.
