Rich had a BIG birthday on June 17th!! Can't believe he turned the big 4-0!! Definitely the best looking, in the best shape and most fun 40 year old around! A few months ago I was thinking we'd do something big for his birthday but then he made it very clear that he did not want a party so that idea was scratched, so then I tossed around the idea of the two of us getting away for the weekend but the logistics of that were just too much, so then I just figured I'd just take him out somewhere close to home to celebrate but I was still in a good amount of pain from the infection on my leg so we settled with homemade chicken parm and cheesecake from the Cheesecake factory with a little celebration with our little family. It was perfect!
He was pretending to have trouble blowing out the candles and the kids were just cracking up. He definitely keeps all of us laughing constantly!
Love the smiles on Joseph and Ella's faces in this one!
Finally, he did it! (With Joseph's help!)"Where are the candles, Ella?" All gone!!
After cake, Joseph and Daddy were working intently on connect the dots!
Thankfully Rich and I were able to go out at the end of June to celebrate his birthday once more, just the two of us. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures (we used a new sitter and felt awkward asking her to take our picture-ha!) but we had a great night. We went to Via Emilia for a delicious Italian dinner and then headed to the Waterway for frozen yogurt and fireworks. It was great to reminisce about us celebrating his 30th birthday when he was in Afghanistan (which was his first birthday that we celebrated as a couple) and now a decade later to see how far we have come together. Happy Birthday babe! Wishing you the start of another fabulous year and looking forward to celebrating many more birthdays together.
