Julia's 6th birthday

I'm having a hard time believing that Julia is 6!!  These sweet kids are growing up and it is just so hard to grasp.  This is a big year for Julia with her beginning Kindergarten and she is so excited about it and just going with the flow with it being virtual-but that is Julia's personality.  Ever since she was born she has always just been so laid back and easy going.  She is easy to please and gets excited even over the littlest things.  She has a heart of gold and is always thinking of others and showing kindness (although recently we have noticed that she has become more "stern" with Charlotte but not necessarily in a mean way but if she doesn't like what she is doing she will let her know-could be good for both of them though!). Julia had to celebrate part of her birthday with virtual learning but she made the most of it.  She opened a present before school which was the penny board (small skateboard) that she asked for so she was SO excited to share that with her class.  I'm pretty sure she got the idea that she wanted this from a channel on you tube that she watches sometimes but as soon as she got it in her head that's all she asked for!  She was SO excited to get it! She was able to squeeze in a few laps around the pool before school and as soon as school was over we headed to the park so she could test it out.  Nani, Poppa and Finn met us at the park and then came back to our house for swimming, dinner, more presents and cake, along with Paul, Lindsay and Nora.  She had the best time celebrating.  She loved her carrot cake (her request) and especially that it was decorated with a dj setup (also her request).  A few weeks ago she started saying she wanted a dj setup for her birthday and was adamant that was what she wanted her theme to be-thankfully she was ok with us telling her that a dj set was probably not going to happen for her birthday but that we could still do a theme.  Poppa made a special treat for her (see below!) to make her dreams of having a dj setup come true though.  He's the best and she was so happy!!!

Poppa made her this super thoughtful dj set with the records on cardboard and she put them on the suitcases immediately so she could sit behind it and spin records ;).
Julia, you are loving, kind, generous, creative and a hard worker.  We love watching you use obscene amounts of duct tape (or any type of tape for that matter) to create all sorts of creations for yourself, your stuffed animals, your dolls...basically anything!  Although we love your creations and creativity your lack you sometimes remind us of an absent minded professor where you get so caught up in your work that you forget other things and definitely never remember to clean up ;). Your room is always a mess and you have trinkets everywhere but it doesn't seem to bother you-it is funny to note this though because a few years ago you were the one whose shoes always needed to be lined up "just so" but now half the time you get in the car without shoes on!!!  You've always had the biggest and most beautiful eyes with the best sparkle.  You care deeply and have a soft spot in your heart for just about everything and everyone.  We love you so much and can't wait to watch how much you grow this year!

She is the selfie queen!!!  Between selfies and videos on my phone by Julia it's no wonder I have to pay for extra storage!
Happy 6th birthday Jules!!
