Big Bear 2021

The kids had the best time in Big Bear last year that we decided to do it again this year.  They were so excited for it and we kept checking the snow/weather schedule for the weeks coming up to the trip.  We got super lucky and there was a snowstorm earlier in the week so when we arrived there was a ton of snow on the ground and we just had another great year!  We stayed at a differnet cabin and loved it-the location was great and we just had the best time.  They are already asking to go back again; although next year they are really hoping it can snow while we are there-we told them we'll try to make that happen ;)

We arrived Saturday afternoon to a backyard full of snow so the kids had a blast playing in the backyard for the rest of the day!  

We went for a walk around the neighborhood. 

On Sunday morning they were up and ready to play in the backyard again which they did for a long time before we decided to venture out.  We then headed to our "secret spot" that we found out about last year and had the best day.  The park below was packed with people but we hiked about 15 minutes up to the same spot as the year before and had it all to ourselves and had the best afternoon sledding, building and playing!  We also hung in the hot tub on Sunday which was fun!

On Monday we were excited for another full day and even more excited because the Zicklers were joining us!  After playing in the backyard again in the morning the Zicklers met us at our house and then we headed over to the secret spot again.  They loved it just as much as we did and we just had the best day together!  

The cabin was stocked with games and videos so when we wanted a break from the snow we had plenty to do inside, too.  We also celebrated Valentine's Day there on Sunday so that made it extra sweet!

There was only a fake fireplace though which made us laugh!  It was nice to look at and it actually did produce heat so that made it a little more life like.  

We were sad to leave on Tuesday again but this has been such a fun yearly getaway that we look forward to doing it again next year!  Crazy thing was that we even got the kids back to school in time on Tuesday-since they are in the afternoon session they don't go until 11:45 so we left around 8:00 and were home in plenty of time to get them there (that was even with a quick stop since Julia threw up!). Definitely some positives to having the afternoon session!
