Charlotte Grace-month 1

Baby Charlotte, or "Baby La La" as affectionately called by Julia, turned one month on October 3rd!  Where has the past month gone?!  She has been the perfect final addition to our family and everyone is just so in love.  It definitely seems that she has been here a lot longer than only a month.
Here are a lot of pictures from the past month...
September 6th
Beautiful girls!
She is a fan of the swing!  She has been sleeping in the swing at nights as well and normally sleeps for four hours at a time...I would have never put Joseph in a swing all night but I need to be able to fully function during the day so if she sleeps well in the swing, we are sticking with it!  I know she won't be in it forever so I think it's ok :)
Look at those sweet little eyes peeking through!
It will be so fun having these two so close in age!!  September 6th.
She is loved by so many people already!  She received welcome gifts and flowers from friends and family across the country and we are so grateful.
 September 7th
For the first week or so she cried every time she was changed but since then has gotten used to it and doesn't mind it so much.  She still isn't so crazy about having a onesie taken off over her head though.  She doesn't like to eat if she is poopy (understandable) or has to burp (also understandable) and my milk comes in really fast so often makes a huge gulping sound and then pulls off which results in milk everywere!!  Ahh, the joys of nursing!
Love these sweet baby yawns!  September 8th.
 So much love!!!
 5 days old here-September 8th.
She does well when she is swaddled and really is sleeping great.
 Getting comfortable on September 9th.
We had her newborn photo shoot on September 10th...another post to follow with those pictures.
Meeting Aunt Hollie for the first time on September 12th.
All tuckered out from the birthday party fun for Julia at Nani and Poppa's on September 12th.
This was the first time that Charlotte joined us for dinner (September 12th)-she is normally asleep so we had her on the table in the bouncy seat while we ate and then moved her to the floor for dessert and they all wanted to sit around her.
Hanging out with us while we did the dishes after dinner.
Isabella was so excited to hold Charlotte-she is so sweet with all of the girls and is always so concerned with how Charlotte is doing.
 So alert on September 14th.
She is becoming very acquainted with the carseat since she is in it pretty regularly with all of the drop off and pick ups from school.  As long as she is fed, she is normal asleep as soon as the car/stroller starts moving so she doesn't seem to mind it.  However, the second time that I walked home after getting Joseph from school with all four kids, she screamed the entire way!  Joseph's lunchbox also fell out of the stroller but thankfully a friend found it and picked it up and had her husband chase after us to return it-we were basically a hot mess that day!
Hanging out with everyone on September 15th.
Ella just loves being close to her.
Sleepy little pea on September 16th.
Tummy time on the 17th.  She was able to hang for a bit before letting us know that she was not happy.
She lost her umbilical cord on September 16th so we gave her her first official bath on September 17th.  She was a little hesitant at first but then decided that she was a fan and has loved it ever since, although she is sensitive to the temperature.  One time it was a little warmer than usual and she let us know as soon as we put her in. Once I added a few cups of colder water she was back to her happy self.
Of course, I had great helpers with her first bath and continue to do so.  All three kids helped with her first one and Ella and Julia continue to want to help with every one since then.
 Snug as a bug!
September 18th-she looks so big here!
On September 18th the kids were swimming and I had pumped some milk that morning to let some down so I decided to try feeding her from the bottle and she did great.  She drank 4 ounces without even thinking about it...however, I can't get her to do it again!  Ugh.  My mom has been watching her and Julia every Monday morning so I can volunteer in Joseph's classroom and she will not take the bottle from her.  Rich has tried a few times as well and he was able to get her take it once but only after about an hour of her not wanting anything to do with it.  We'll keep trying...but her is proof that she did do it!
Back in the bath on September 20th. She spits up regularly so baths are needed frequently, however, they are probably needed more than she actually gets.  She often just gets wiped down and we call it good!
Joseph's friend, Chase, and his mom and sister stopped by on September 21st to meet baby Charlotte.
She definitely loves to be swaddled and normally calms down immediately once done so.
 Ella, the doting big sister.
Just hanging out on September 24th.
A check up from Dr. Julia making sure that she is healthy.  Thankfully she is very healthy.
She likes the bouncy seat for limited amounts of time.  I actually think she tolerates it better than the rest of the kids ever did-she won't fall asleep in it but will hang out with us and watch everything.  I keep it in the kitchen so she can hang out in there with me since I seem to spend the majority of my time there.
Ella was supervising her while in her play gym.
I love, love, love this next series of pictures as they capture her sweet little baby stretch and yawn. September 29
Streeeetch!
 This one is my favorite!
And, now, back to sleeping.
She slept from 9:00 to 2:15 on September 29th.  Amazing!!
More love from Ella and we have a math star in the house at such an early age!
A little love from Julia, too.  I am constantly calling Charlotte "Julia" and Julia always corrects me, "No, I uhh-uhh" which is how she still says her name!
I think Ella took this picture but I just love how squishy she looks up on me.  She loves to nestle right under my chin which I just love.
Hanging out at night with mom and dad once the rest of the kids are asleep.  She eats a lot at night and is seeming to cluster feed from about 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. but then at around 8:30 she is normally asleep for the night and will go until about 1:00 a.m. and then sometimes is up between 4 and 5 and a few nights has started going until 6:00.  She is a great sleeper!!! On September 29th she slept from 9:00 to 2:15 and then up again at 5:00 but then back down again.  And on her one month birthday she slept from 8:30-2:30 and then back down until 6:30.
She is starting to smile already!!!  These pictures are from September 30th when I caught her first ones on camera.  On October 2nd in the middle of the night I got a bunch of smiles that were more than just milk smiles since she was awake and they totally made those middle of the night feedings worth it.  When she is awake she is very alert and very in tune as to what is going on-she is tracking us already and knows when someone is there.
She has very loud burps and she has burped "on command" twice for Joseph, in his face, which resulted in endless laughter by all!  She has also projectile spit up/vomited a few times and just missed Joseph once which he was pretty thankful for!

All dresse dup for church on October 2nd.
 Swaddled up later that day.
Early morning time with her on October 3rd.  She did sleep from 8:15 to 2:15 on October 2nd which was a fabulous 1 month birthday present for everyone!!!  None of the other kids ever slept for even close to that long this early so she is definitely something special!
All dressed up on her one month birthday!
At her one month appointment on October 3rd, she was 11 pounds, 14.5 ounces putting her in the 97th percentile and she measured 57.5 cm, also at the 97th percentile, although I don't think her length is accurate since she was moving like crazy. Dr. Friedmann said that she looked great, although she did have the baby acne on her face and chest but nothing to worry about.  We don't have to go back until 2 months (for some reason I was thinking it was at 6 weeks) and she will get her shots then.
Happy 1 month sweet baby girl!  We can't imagine our lives without you and are so glad you are here.
