10 years!!!

Rich and I celebrated our ten year wedding anniversary on July 21st!!  Ten years!!  Wow!  We had a really nice night out to celebrate-my parents took the kids overnight and we headed to Duke's in La Jolla since Duke's is where it all began with us!  It definitely didn't have the same feel as the one in Hawaii but it was still fun to be there and we enjoyed the complimentary hula pie to celebrate!
And, the view was pretty magnificent, too!
After dinner we decided to go see the movie, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, which was set in Hawaii.  Since we couldn't take a trip to Hawaii for our ten year we just figured we'd do our best to recreate our own Hawaii here!  We are awful at taking pictures when it is just the two of us, so we didn't take any pictures of us on our anniversary, but here are two of my favorites from our journey.

The very first picture that we have of us together!  September 2003
Married!!  July 21, 2006
While at dinner we were reminiscing on our ten years and came up with this fun list of the past ten years.
1-1 team, 1 team (our "motto" while he was in Afghsnishstan that was on our wedding rehearsal cake)
2- Ironman races (which are really the true testament to a strong marriage!)
3- states lived in
4 -(almost!) kids
5 -foreign countries visited
6 -minor disagreements (ha!  We couldn't come up with something for 6 so we went with this!)
7 -cars (doesn't that sound a bit excessive for just 10 years!?!)
8 -trips to the ER (Joseph-3, Ella-2, Lisa-3)
9 -anniversaries celebrated (yes, only 9 anniversaries celebrated-Rich missed one!! We were on vacation with his family in the Outerbanks but still no excuse, right?!)  He made up for it the following year and thankfully I am the most forgiving person he knows-ha ha!
10-years of marriage!!!

We are so thankful to be on this journey together and love the life that we have created together and look forward to many, many, many more wonderful years together.  Love you, babe!
