Happy Easter!

We had such a great Easter weekend-it was one of those weekends where you go to bed Sunday night feeling so blessed and thankful.  It was beautiful weather all weekend, we had fun with friends and family, celebrated Jesus' resurrection and just really enjoyed the excitement of our three kids for the holiday.
We kicked off the weekend on Saturday morning at the church that is affiliated with Joseph's preschool because Joseph sang in the family service that morning.  Since September Joseph has been attending Mini melodies, a 90 minute extra curricular activity that his preschool offers every Wednesday.  He enjoys it mostly because a lot of his buddies from preschool attend but has learned some great songs from it and they are always doing fun activities.  He did a great job singing and all of the kids looked so cute in their Easter clothes on stage!
He was moved at the last minute on stage from the right to all the way to the left but thankfully we were still able to see him.
Julia enjoying the performance with Poppa! The church did a nice job of gearing this service to young kids.  They provided bags filled with props to use during the service and even called all of the kids on to stage to investigate the tomb to be sure that it was empty.  All three kids were entertained and interested for the entire hour.
After the service, there was an Easter festival on the church grounds with an egg hunt, the Easter bunny, a petting zoo, bounce houses, crafts, snacks and a lot more-it was a great way to spend the morning.
Joseph and two of his good buddies from school, Chase and Tanner (and Chase's sweet sister, Taylor).
And a cute one of just Joseph and Tanner.
Working hard at the egg hunt!

Nani was Julia's helper.  I just love that Julia kept the cross that was passed out at the family service on all morning
Showing Daddy and Poppa their loot from the eggs

75 pictures later, I was able to capture one of all three smiling!
Most of them looked like this:
Stone face Julia!!  Ha ha ha!
They all loved the petting zoo with bunnies, goats, chicks, and chickens!
The Easter Bunny was totally creepy but crazy enough none of them seemed to mind!
Of course, Julia wasn't totally impressed but at least didn't cry!
Fun in the bounce house to end the morning!
We spent Saturday afternoon hanging around the house getting ready for the following day since we were hosting Easter dinner at our home!
The Easter Bunny made a stop at our house that night!  He hid the baskets around the family room but allowed for a quick picture of them before they were hidden.
On the hunt for eggs!
Daddy helped Julia with a few
They found Julia's basket under the dining room table
Pretty excited about his basket!
Checking everything out
Testing out the new pool toys that the Easter Bunny brought!
After the Easter bunny fun early that morning, Rich headed out for an 18 mile run while the kids and I made bunny pancakes and did some last minute cleaning up for that afternoon.  We then headed to 10:30 mass and got back in time to throw some food in the oven, put Julia down for a nap and then get ready for our guests.
Laura and I were trying to get a picture of the cousins before the egg hunt and this was the best we were getting...

We then recruited Rich for help and got some great smiles!!
On the hunt in the backyard
We enjoyed a delicious Easter dinner with everyone!  George, cousin Ryan and his college roommate joined us, too, which made it all the more fun!  The kids had a blast playing together (so much so that Ella was a huge mess when it was time for everyone to go) and we enjoyed a relaxing, beautiful afternoon with everyone!  Happy Easter!!!
