Nani's visit

My mom came to visit from Wednesday, February 18th through Sunday the 22nd.  It is always such a treat having her come to town and was even more appreciated this time since Rich was traveling for the week so I had an extra set of hands for two nights with her help.  The weather was beautiful on Thursday so we decided to head for the zoo-it was perfect zoo weather with the sun shining and about 65 degrees and really was just the perfect day.  Julia was as happy as could be sitting up like a big girl in the stroller and Ella and Joseph did an excellent job of walking everywhere and had such a fun time.
We started out by hecking out the fish
Then headed to the elephants-the baby elephant was so cute!
Quick photo op in the bird area
They have a new sea lion show (or at least new to us since we haven't been there for about a year) which was great!
Waiting patiently for the show to start
 Popping through like the muskrats!
Having fun at the playground before we head home
Such a fun day!
On Friday we headed over to our park and spent almost two hours there playing before lunch.
On Saturday morning Creekside Park had its annual Touch a Truck event so we headed over to check it out.  It was much more crowded this year than in year's past but the kids had a good time checking out the different vehicles and we ran into a bunch of friends which was fun.  We spent just as much time on the playground playing with Elsie and Ben as we did checking out the trucks but it was a great way to spend the morning outside.
Blowing the horn on the trash truck!
On Saturday afternoon after the kids rested and we made Pop's spaghetti sauce and meatballs (which turned out delicious!) we walked over to Village Green to show Nani the new area including the candy store where she treated everyone!
After the trip to the zoo with Julia out of the infant carseat, I decided to try her again sitting like a big girl and she loved it!  How cute are these two?  They are both growing up so fast!!
That night, Rich and I headed out to dinner (our first date since the arrival of Julia!!!) which was really nice and Nani didn't have any trouble at home with all three (of course she didn't though...that's why we call her Super Nani!)
On Sunday we went to church and then she entertained the kids with making caterpillars out of egg cartons before her flight left around 3:00.
Julia loved all of the Nani snuggles during her visit!
We had such a wondeful visit, as always, and are so appreciative of her help. We miss her (and Poppa) so much!  Thanks Nani-see you in April!
