End of June

The second half of June went by just as fast as the first and before we knew it the middle of summer was here!  We spent many days at the pool, finishing up swim lessons and meeting up with friends to play.
We had some crazy rain for a few days with lots of flooding throughout Texas. Thankfully we were safe here and the kids enjoyed wearing their rainbows.  We were walking into the library on June 16th and I looked over to find them holding hands like this-definitely melts your heart!
Later that day, while it was pouring rain outside, they created an obstacle course with a pack of diapers, deflated balloons, the little potty and an old shoebox.  They were having so much fun!
Elsie handed down a box of clothes and Ella discovered this Little Mermaid nightgown which she insisted on wearing every time we were home and slept in it for I think three straight days (I was able to sneak it in the wash thankfully!)
Posing with messy Julia, still in the nighbgown
Dancing in the rain with Victoria on June 18th at the pool as a little storm passed over us.
We ended up getting thundered out of the pool so Emily invited us and the Garza girls over to their home for the afternoon.  There was a pretty intense game  of Twister going on.
On Saturday, June 20th,  Rich and Joseph went to watch Ricky Garza play in a tennis match so I took the girls on a run and to feed the ducks.  Ella LOVES to feed the ducks!
We celebrated Father's Day by kicking it off with a delicious bbq lunch on Saturday.  We attempted to go to Corkscrew bbq, which is supposed to be the best in the area but there was an hour wait (in the sun!) so we made the smart choice to visit another highly recommended place that I'm sure was just as good.  It was definitely Ducote approved!
Typical floor with Julia!
On Sunday we checked out a car show and then went out for lunch at Crust pizza.  We ended the day with a trip to the pool and then dinner, gifts and cake for our amazing Daddy!  We so appreciate all that he does for our family and it is so nice to have a day where we can show him how much we do love him.

Daddy was pretty excited for his electronic tie rack!  He said that he had been waiting for one of these from the kids since Joseph was born so glad that we made his wish come true!
At the library with friends on June 22nd for a puppet show.
Just hanging out together later that afternoon
Getting so big!
Jumping for hours at the pool on June 23rd. Joseph and Ella LOVE the pool and to swim.  Joseph is swimming across the pool, diving off the jumping board and going down the big slides. He is so proud of himself as we are as well.  He facial expresions looks like he in distress every time he takes a breath but his strokes are good and he can get where he needs to go-just hoping the lifeguards don't pick him up by the look on his face!  Ella even went down the slide in the first picture!!  She was so excited to do so and loves keeping up with the big kids.
All passed out after the fun day at the pool and a trip to Costco.
All dressed up for a birthday party on June 27th!  This was the last time that she wore a headband-she now pulls them off of her head immediately.
The foam sword feels good on her two bottom teeth which have finally emerged!!
We lovingly refer to Julia as our destructosaurus and she continues to live up to this name.  She loves putting her hands in the toilet, destroying the toilet paper and of course, knocking down any towers that Joseph and Ella have built.
Love being able to run/walk with Joseph now that he is riding his bike without training wheels-such a great view!  Early morning run with the kids while Daddy was on a long run (18 miles) getting ready for the marathon in August.
Since Daddy was out on a long run we did the lap around the lake and stopped at the end to see if he could catch anything with his net.  Well, he ended up catching a ton of minnows!  He would catch them in his net and then put them back and just as I was telling him that next time we could bring a tupperware container so he could bring a few home he looked at me and says, "What about your water bottle?  We could put them in there?"  So gross, I know, but I just couldn't say no to him.  He was so excited and it was a pretty good idea.  We now have 8 minnows in a bowl on our kitchen counter.  We bought them fish food and they are as happy as can be.  The next walk we take aroun the  lake I am hoping to convnice Joseph to return them back to their real home.
At the pool on June 28th trying to scale the chair!  She was having so much fun as she was trying her best to climb right over it.
Hanging out while Joseph and Ella play at the splash pad on June 29th after bootcamp with friends.  I wasn't planning on continuing to go to boot camp this summer (except for the days that I taught) but there is a new early class (8:15) that is held at the park with the splash pad which has really been great.  The kids are totally entertained and it is early enough to somewhat beat the heat and then we spend an hour or two playing after so it works out well.
 Ella's first braid!
On the go again on June 30th.
Fun at the park after our run.
 Kissing those piggies!
 Firewoman Ella to the rescue!
Such excitement!
Firewoman one minute, a doctor the next!
And, that wraps up June.
